What happened? Was last season really THAT bad? I was so looking forward to doing this and it was my first opportunity to participate as I joined BDW in the middle of Season 6. So one rotten apple ruined the entire barrel? I am so disappointed. I don't really understand why one of the mods isn't willing to step up to lead this for all of the ladies interested. It's a shame. Well, thanks anyway. The rest of the forum is great, so I guess I should stop complaining!!

If anyone wants a BL partner for the next 78 days PM me! I would love to have an e-mail buddy to encourage, be accountable to and check in with!!

Thanks!

Ouch! The mods are busy with life outside of BDW, that's why. Ann put selfless work into running the BL out of a personal desire to see people succeed and she can't do it anymore. It's not a shame because all is not lost, some of you were looking forward to making healthy choices and getting fit. You can still do that, it's just that BDW isn't organizing it. I don't know how else to say it nicely.

Right.

That's more like it!

Thanks!
You guys, just because the BL isn't being hosted by BDW doesn't mean you can't get yourselves together. Obviously this is a DW forum first and foremost so the BL competition was a bonus but it's gone now so here we are. Shelby is looking for a partner, maybe somebody else is. Maybe several of you are. Go from there.

Again, thanks to those who understand and good luck in achieving your personal goals.

I'm sorry, but I took personal offense to this. Yes, it was really that bad. For a light-hearted competition between "friends" on here, it was awful. I was getting PMs and emails telling me how this person cheated, and that person was being mean, or something wasn't fair. When all of that started happening, it wasn't fun anymore. So yes, one (or more than one, actually) person ruined it for the rest.

And just so you're aware, this isnt' my job, I don't get paid. The moderators here do what we do because we love this forum, want to see it work for others like it worked for us when we were planning our weddings. We all have lives outside of this forum, believe it or not, and some of us are quite busy - working full time, raising a family, taking care of our pregnant selves, etc. So to say it's a shame one of us doesn't "step up" to deal with this drama and whining hit a raw nerve with me.

Honestly, I was really going back and forth on whether or not to host this again. I really wanted to, it's been great in the past. But some of the reactions I've seen since I said I wasn't going to host made me realize I made the right decision.

For those of you that played fair, and made it a fun competition - thank you. I hope you all succeed in your weight loss and health goals!

i also want to re-iterate that not only do the mods volunteer their time to help make the forum run smoothly but this is a free forum for brides/grooms so when people complain about how the forum is run, why mods can't do more, i want to tear my hair out.

unfortunately, this was a case where a few bad apples ruined it for everyone. yes, it sucks but the mods/admin have enough on their plates just trying to get the forum to run smoothly, keep spam off the forum, etc. that dealing with drama on the forum is the LAST thing we want to deal with.

So i would really appreciate it if the mods/admin make a decision on the forum/how its run etc, you will respect our decision. If you have a question about it, maybe pm a mod but please do not startshitfan.gif .

Ann, thank you so much for the time and effort you have continually put together for the BL. I was a participant for a season or two and I know what you put into it. I am sorry that it doesn't seem to have been respected and has come to be expected of you. You were doing a huge favor for everyone who participated and I am sorry that wasn't recognized by 100% of the people who participated.

Also, just wanted you to know that I think your response was very well said!

And, as always, Tammy, thanks for the support that you give us. I can't imagine my life without the forum and all the wonderful girls that I now *know* so well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
