I am Aug. 6 and still don't have an officiant yet. Isuyeny made it sound like a week or two before we would be contacted about our officiant. At that time we would need to have our vows, readings etc. I will let you know as I find out more :)

I contacted Pastor Rick this week and he responded quickly. He e-mailed two dif ceremonies to pick from...one is traditional other is contemporary. Both are very nice. Isyuney said Pastor Rick is fine to do the ceremony but the judge will come later and pick up our signatures. So to my understanding it's a separate fee for Pastor Rick, which is $300. I assume the judge then later comes and makes it legal?!?! Sound about right?

Diva, I've been checking myself & haven't seen it yet. I'm DYING to hear all about her experience with Excellence. FI found out today that a co-worker is honeymooning @ Excellence in October. I can't wait to hear his review of the place either!

Do they do more than one wedding per night? I thought I read somewhere that they did but it seems like most of the weddings are held at 4 on the beach. How does this work? Also I am worried about the heat during the reception. I really like the idea of doing it at the cascade pool but does it stay really warm at night?

I was told when I was planning that they only do one wedding per day. You can move the time of the ceremony if you want to. I think ours was at 5 because you can't start your recpetion at the cascade pool until 7 and I didn't want that much time in between. For our weddding it was SUPER hot for the ceremony and the reception (I think it was the hottest day of the trip). We used the cascade pool which is beautiful and I would do it again there but because it is surrounded by buildings and away from the water there wasn't really a breeze.

Thanks! Ana is my wedding planner but she hasn't been emailing me back lately. I have a few questions about the ceremony music...I know a lot of people go with the sax player but 350 seems kind of expensive for 1/2 an hour. What are the other options?

I was told that the sound system is included for the ceremony so we are bringing a cd with our own music. I believe if you want the sound system for the reception it is extra.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
