Excellence Punta Cana Brides Thread

Recommended Posts

I actually had to change my date to May 1, 2011! April 23rd in 2011 is the day before Easter and that would be the week of school vacation. Not such a good idea! How exciting Amber! I'm so happy for you. Can anyone tell me how I would add my monogram to the thread? Also, I don't know how to post a new thread. Any help would be appreciated. I also have pics of my dress that I would love to show you ladies.

Hello Ladies!

I have a few questions for you all about your experience with the wedding department at Excellence.

As you know, I am getting married in less than a month (yay!!) It was recommended to me by someone on this forum to make spa appointments (hair, makeup) prior to arriving at the resort. When I called today, I spoke with Rosa who told me that I should wait and do that when I arrive at the resort and to not worry about it. Were any of you July brides able to make spa appointments or restaurant reservations in advance?

I have also had zero communication with the department about our planning. Granted our ceremony is the basic one and we have very few guests. However, I had no clue until today who our wedding coordinator was, which Rosa said to me "I think it's Ana". It would be really helpful to me if I knew a timeline of what we need to discuss before we get down there and what will be taken care of when we arrive. I tried asking Rosa questions but she told me to email my questions to Ana, who I don't know how to personally get in contact.

I've heard of all these great conversations you guys have had with the ladies in the wedding department at Excellence. I know they do not get back to you at light speed at all but it seems when I call, nobody answers or when I email I don't get a response or it is vague.

Oh i forgot to ask this today.....Did any of you have to fax your translated paperwork from WEDO to the resort? I read on the WEDO website that some resorts require that but I didn't have a chance to ask that to Rosa today when we spoke.

I know I'm sounding negative. But like most of you, I want to be on the beach with drinks in hand, not spend all my days prior to the wedding, preparing for it. I'm sure it will all come together in the end and I'm worrying over nothing....I usually do!! :)

Last, did some of you have links to flowers/cakes....I'd like to know before hand what they have to offer rather than trying to wing it when I get down there.

So ladies I havent been able to get ahold of Ana for 2 weeks now, I know she is busy so maybe you girls can help me. How are u guys telling your guests to book? Do most of you have a TA? Ana gave me a great quote I think about 140pp/night but I am not sure how to tell my guest to book with her? I think thats a good price for April 2010, what have you guys been quoted? Any info will help...sending my save the dates out this week and I know some guests are gonna wanna book right away.

Also I havent been able to find any pictures of previous Excellence weddings on here but if you go to Trip advisor and type in Excellence Punta Cana weddings, a lot of reviews come up and some have great pictures. Almost all the reviews were given 5 out of 5 which makes me even more excited.

Tamadana-not sure about the sand, I hear you on the white sand but for me personally, I am just excited to have any sand between my toes when I say "I do"...i cant wait.

I got a response from Ana, The date that I wanted is not available anymore. I was asking for the 14, 15 or 16th of february 2010.

I will have to find another date. I asked for a legal ceremony and she did not tell me that there is no legal ceremony on sundays...what is the truth?

I'm a litle bit confused as well. I don't know how to book my date, my travel and the travel for my guests.

Where do I starthuh.gif

nbulldog19,

If you look in the first few pages of the thread someone posted a link to pics on snapfish that were helpful. Also, Ana sent me a link to this couple's wedding Luna Things. On the photosouvenier website you can see some Excellence weddings.

As far as booking. We are working with a travel agent from destinationweddings.com who is awesome. She has called all of our guests, sent them quotes for their dates and airports. She coordinates our ground tranpsortation. If anything happens to any guests flights she will take care of it. It's made my life a million times easier. Oh and if the hotel is overbooked we will not get bumped because of the contract we have....annnnd we get free things for people booking. We booked 10 rooms so far and got 2 upgrades on our room. They also create a travel website for you and your guests. I can go in and look at who is booked and their travel dates. I HIGHLY recommend it.

ecox125,

I would call Ana directly. If she doesn't answer I would call the hotel. I can email you everything I have if you'd like. I think I've asked her every question possible and have pictures and menus.

Happy planning...we are working on our Civil Ceremony which is June 20th ...had to please the family and have something here.

Hi!

I have a question for the brides who already had their wedding or have been to a wedding @ EPC.

Are rectangle seating tables available? I do not want round tables.

I also noticed that someone said you can take your own table runner and centerpieces. I saw an image from a wedding they sent me and they didnt look soo great (the flowers) for being so expensive.

Either way, if anyone else has wedding pictures I'd love to see them. Please send them to [email protected]

If you'd like to see the pics that they sent me please email me as well, so I can forward them to you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
