Yup, we got married on the beach. it's actually located right behind the 24 hour snack bar and the activity pool. In fact, our guests all met at the 24 hour bar before heading down. It's the hammock location and although it's on the beach, it's by the rocks. so instead of hearing speedo clad tourists in the background, you hear waves crashing on the beach. It's very nice!

has anyone got married legally after their DW? my guy is wondering what our parents will think if they know our ceremony isn't legal if we asked them to come all that way.
Now, we did NOT have to do anything with our birth certificates. We simply had our passports and tourists visas and that's all we needed. It might be different coming from Canada, but I'm not sure. But honestly, it was SO easy to get legally married down there.

Good luck planning and don't be afraid to send me private messages if you have any questions.

oh i know the area you are talking about now. if you are on the beach by the swing bar and you keep walking down farther to the right. it is a nice location. i guess we were by there but no ceremony was taking place so i didn't realize it was the same area.

yeah when we decide on a date officially and i contact the resort i will find out more about the legal ceremony. i have read some canadians had to get their birth certificates in the long form, whatever that means and it translated from english to spanish. i suppose i have plenty of time to do that if it's necessary. it would be nice to do it legally.

thanks for the info and getting back to me. excuse my slow response.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
