CANADIAN OOT BAG info...where to shop!

Recommended Posts

Www.theweddingshoppe.ca is a Canadian company and has parasols around $10 I think. I also found some in a store in Chinatown. They were 6-8 dollars. Didn't have enough pink ones that I needed but had different colours. They also had some flowers painted on them. Just another option to consider

I just contacted Pioneergroup and this is what their response was on shipping to Canada:

Sorry, I am sorry we ship to Canada only if the quantity is 10 dozen or more. Because of the shipping rate is so expensive.   It's too bad because their price was so good.

I also contacted them and was quoted $100 shipping for 2 dozen to have them shipped to Calgary.

I've got a friend who may be going to new york in the next few weeks, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will help me out!

So this might be a stupid question but what are you doing with the parasols? Thanks!

Minimum order of 10 dozen? That's ridiculous. I got 2 dozen and it came to like $104 with express shipping and tracking number. That's including the 2 dozen pashmina's. Just to be clear the email I used was [email protected] and I was talking to someone named Luanna. They had asked ground or express in the email conversations and I said the cheaper of the two but then it was shipped express anyway. I spoke to them over the phone to do the credit card transaction because I didn't want to email my cc number, their number is 212-779-8872.

The little tags on them say 100% pashmina, which according to wikipedia:

Pashmina refers to a type of fine cashmere wool and the textiles made from it.[1][2] The name comes from Pashmineh (پشمینه), made from Persian pashm ("wool").[2] The wool comes from changthangi or pashmina goat, which is a special breed of goat indigenous to high altitudes of the Himalayas in Nepal, Pakistan and northern India

And they really are super soft and feel really nice. They are also pretty big, when I measured it out it's 6 ft long not counting the little tassles and just over 2ft wide.

I dug em out to take pictures:

That's it in the package it came in - now, the rest of them are all beautifully folded in their individual packages that say Pashmina like this one, but this is the one I took out to feel and stuff and I couldn't get it folded back the way it was, lol.

This is it out of the package, the color shows up funny in the pictures or maybe its the bad lighting in my living room but its a really nice bright turquoise

This is it opened up and stretched across my sectional couch, like I said its about 6 feet long x 2 feet 2inches wide, but its silky enough that if you double it up and loop it around your neck as a scarf its not bulky or anything, but you can also use it as a big wrap/shawl and its very smooth on the skin.

Anyway, that ends my little pashmina information session. You tell them someone you know bought 2 dozen pashmina's. I paid$54 for 2 dozen then another $50 for shipping, but I could have had the $30 ground shipping.. oh well.. they are here and I really like them so I guess my total cost per one is really $4.33 as opposed to the $2.25 that sounded so good to begin with, so if you do have someone going to NYC it would be way better, but this is good too. And I'll tell FI that it was 2.25 for one, lol. Shipping shouldnt count embarrest.gif

Just to let you know, i went to Pashmina group store right on 7th ave ( on the ctrain line) right beside the big church on 7th and 1st.. and I got 11 pashminas for 100 bucks. doesn't sound as good of a price as pioneer group, however with shipping costs it works out to be the same..  and they are EXACTLY like the ones from pioneer group. same packaging and everything! :)

I was at Ardene the other day and it seemed that they had a sale on pashminas. They were around $5 each.

Hey! That's a great deal.. I was in there at Balzac mall, ( it was a claires) but same store.. hehehe but they only had like 5 of them, and they were plaid and none of them my colors.. I think that is half the challenge. #1 finding the quality that you are happy with and #2 finding the amount and the colors you want :)

Ooo...got mine last week, placed the order on Monday night, there was an error in the billing address, lost a day there, they showed up on Friday afternoon from the US! And, pleased as punch! I ordered 20 large paper parasols @ $4.00 and 45 sandlewood fans @ $1.03, plus shipping $64.46. Total of $178.17 US, had them delivered to my parents because my dad is usually home, he had to pay $27 or something in duty, COD. Plus, I googled coupon code for Asian Ideas, and found one for 10%! Service was awesome, super fast! www.asianideas.com

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
