The Twins

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just wanted to give my input on the Twins, I heard so much about them and how great they were so I booked them for 4 hours at my wedding. We only had 40 guests so this was a splurge at $3500.

I am a wedding planner in the states so I hear lots of good wedding bands but honestly did not like the Twins. They are average and a DJ would have been a better choice.

Think twice before booking, 3500 is a lot of money! DJ would have done the trick for sure!!!

JOELLEN, do you mind me asking for more detail? We are going to use Cabomax (the Twins + two other band members) for our reception, and I'm nervous to book without hearing them prior.

What about them did you consider "average?"

Did they at least get your guests on the dance floor?

More detail would be appreciated, since I'm still hesitant! I don't want to make a decision just from the website (which, sounds a little cheesy anyway!)

Thanks!

Ooh ya, I've heard a lot about them and am surprised to hear you didn't like them. What was it about them you didn't like? Definately go in to as much detail as you can. You're right, $3500 is a lot to spend for something that you weren't thrilled about.

So the Twins were not terrible , I just expected more high energy and really trying to get people on the dance floor. Dont get me wrong people danced for awhile but then the Twins lost everyone and me being an event planner had to go up to them with my assistant and tell them to "kick it up a notch" and gave them specific songs to get people on the dancefloor.

Paying this much money, they should have done this. They were more shy than I expected. Their mexican music was good and the gypsy kings but the frank sinatra stuff etc. was really weak. I expected really great entertainers because everyone says they are so fabulous - but they were not all that. Trust me and when they left in a hummer at the end of the nite I really knew that I overpaid for them. Cabo del Sol upcharged a little bit for them so I think normally you can get them for 3k for 4 hours but still - for mediocre entertainment that is not a lot. And at the end a few people wanted more songs and they did not do it. The song everyone danced to the most was the CD I brought Jesse's girl. That really said it all to me, it was a waste of money.

The only other band I'm familiar with is Deja Vu, and everyone I have been in contact with prefers Cabomax over them...so I'm no help!

Now I'm worried! I feel like I really need to see them in person before committing!

Wow, I am really suprised that you did not like them. We hired the Twins for our wedding and they were AWESOME... seriously made the party. Our dance floor was completely packed the whole night.

and $3500 for 4 hours seems ridiculous. We paid $500/hr fo 3 hours + some extra fees for staging and because we rented some other sound equip from them. I think that the total as $2k.

I am sorry to hear that you had such a mediocre experience with them since ours was so great. In my opinion, they were worth every penny, and I would absolutely recommend them.

    • Hundreds of years before, the basic jewellery were made out of seashells and bone, trees and animal skin. In the ancient times, the Egyptian jewellery first came into existence. Egyptian culture inhabited technology, gemstones, and precious metals early in comparison to other places. They were inspired by the culture of royalty and aristocracy which led to thinking noble like having a deep appreciation for luxury. This made them create impactful jewellery and leading trends. Copper was the first metal that came into existence through which we as humans got so many jewellery items.  However, the major focus on jewellery came when they discovered gold. This allowed the Egyptian to rule as the first jewellery maker. The ancient Egyptians valued adornment and were worn by both men and women.  Material and metals: The plethora of material which was used in the making of this Egyptian jewellery was basically gold and silver. Egyptian has mostly attracted towards gold and the availability of silver was less in Egypt as compared to any other place. The colour variation was due to the mixing of elements such as alloys like copper, iron, silver into gold.  Charm jewellery: It was then also an interesting concept to have charms in necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery items. It’s just they were made up of stones and precious or semi-precious jewellery. In this picture above the necklace is adorned with precious stones in different charms shapes. Gem and stones: The more royal pieces of Egyptian jewellery were adorned with the precious jewellery items. The gemstones were semi-precious stones, precious stones are other various gems. The most prized stone were lapis lazuli, rock crystal, and pearls. Emeralds were also found in these jewellery pieces. These were made from ground quartz and then molded into expensive gemstones. They are also used as charm jewellery when molded or carved in different shapes.
