You guys will have so much fun with Cancun Catamarans. I have talked extensively with the owner & he is so pleasant & helpful. The crew members that he has working for him are just a total blast. The day we spent aboard the Next Wave, was probably one of the most memoriable days of my life; it was sooooo much fun. Have a great time & let us know how it goes.
I just booked the "Next Wave" with Cancun Catamarans. I am super excited!

BUT remember if you get prices from Albatros to make sure it includes transportation. $44 for transportation, 4 hour sailing, snorkeling w/equipment, open bar and dry snacks all of which is private is the best deal I found when looking.

*Plus when we arrived at the marina it was really busy, lots of people were standing around. We walked right past the starring people (many of which made comments) and headed towards the catamaran. The marina is full of Albatros boats.
Albatros was recommended by Excellence Playa Mujeres. Albatros does NOT include transportation in their price quotes. I got a price of $2,000 for 4 hours plus an additional $12pp for round trip transportation. Since I am expecting 40 people, this added another $480 to the trip. I wound up booking Cancun Catamarans for $2,250 which was less expensive but then wound up adding top shelf open bar for an additional $120 which made both companies pretty much the same price.

Their website is "Edventure Tours, The best day of you vacation and they will customize your day. We started by being picked up by Bonnie at our hotel, went to Tulum, visited the ruins, then went to Dos Ojos cenote, Garden of Eden cenote (cliff jumping, but not really), and Akumal Bay to snorkel with the sea turtles (and sardines, and barracuda, and amazing other wildlife), we stopped at a local restaurant called La Vida Bonita (I think) in North Akumal, had an amazing lunch (additional charge obviously), and lastly visited Yal-ku lagoon, which is an amazing location that puts Xel-ha to shame. This place is surrounded by sculpture gardens, and has no one but residents who live in the private gated community there (and you, of course). There are other options as well, like Zip lining through the jungle, visiting monkeys, etc, I just included information about our day. They are so friendly, accommadating, reasonable ($$), and just fun to be around that we are still talking about it and recommending it to people almost three years later. We are getting married in June 2009 and you can bet we will be booking a trip with Eddie for either pre-wedding or post-wedding! Good luck!

I agree, edventure tours was great. We went to the ziplines and cenotes. Eddie was really friendly. For $30 he will take pictures all day (even underwater in the cenotes) and then deliver 3 picture discs to your hotel by the next day. Great Experience!! Very reasonable prices...private tour...respond to emails very quickly.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
