Trying to decide on a AI hotel in PV....help!!!

Recommended Posts

OK, so it is that time for me to narrow down the hotel for my friends and family and I can't decide. Anyone have any great suggestions. We've been looking at Riu vallarta, but is it too touristy? I appreciate any/all suggestions. Thanks.

We're getting married at Dreams. Two of the main reasons we chose it were - it is close to "old town" and they apparently have the best beach in PV... I really did not want to be in Hotel Zone, out by the Marina or in Nuevo so the location of Dreams could not be beat...

There were issues with the wedding coordinators there but they have a new wedding coordinator now, Rebeca, and she is amazing... Since Rebeca has come on board, I do not wait for email responses (I usually have a response the same day - only once did I have to wait til the next day). She has been more than helpful!! She is very good at suggesting things that may be of interest and does provide me with options that would also not cost anything extra over and above the package we chose.

We leave in 3 weeks and I will be sure to post a review on our return.

I just got married at the RIU Vallarta. I didn't think it was touristy at all. In fact, Nuevo Vallarta is so far from PV, it's like it's own little place. We had a great time as did our guests. The WC's dont correspond much, but do a hell of a job when you get there. Please PM me if you have any questions.

Good luck!

We are getting marrried at the Riu Vallarta and like Celina said the Riu Vallarta doesnt seem touristy to me at all. We have been there twice n this year will be our third. We love it. The service, entertainment and food is great. The Riu Vallarta does in fact seem like its out on its own.

Good Luck and lets us know if you have any other questions on the Riu

We chose Dreams too for May of 2010. There were a ton of great reviews on tripadvisor.com so we felt good about the hotel & then a lot of great things said on this site about them for weddings. And Rebeca is really good about getting back to you quickly & answering questions. Good luck making your decision, I know how tough it can be!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
