It will be us and about 20 other adults. Sandals or Couples? anything else you feel would be helpful is MUCH appreciated!!
Hi Jill,
I have been to Mo Bay, Ocho Rios, and Negril.... Personally I thing Negril is much nicer than Mo Bay, and a better choice for your guests..

Hello Girls!

I wanted to share some pics of my Beaches wedding which was May 16, 2009. The entire experience was absolutely amazing! I would do it all over again in a second. Here is a link to our pictures:

The majority of these pictures are from the resort photographer, and some at the end are from my camera. We ended up doing the private 3 hour dinner which we had under a big white tent on the beach. It had a dance floor and everything. We brought our ipod and speakers and they were able to have a table setup for that. It was beautiful. All of my guest raved about the food (although the jerk chicken was a little too spicy for some).

I do have to say that Nikki and Andrea at Beaches are absolutely amazing. They couldn't be any nicer. We had a slight rain delay the day of the wedding (I walked down the aisle and then it started pouring) and Nikki kept reassuring me that everything was going to be ok and not to worry that I was going to have the wedding of my dreams.

Melissa,

Your photos are amazing. Usually the resort photographers are hit or miss from what I hear. I am getting married at the Beaches Turks and Caicos resort Oct 2010. Even though I have contracted with a vendor to do my pictures offsite. Your pictures have given me hope that I can get quality pictures from the resort photographer to capture those special moments during the ceremony.

Also your flowers were beautiful.

Hello Ladies!! Hope everyone's planning is going well! I have a question that I am sure is answered somewhere in here, but can't find it! :P I am unclear on what needs to paid for BEFORE the wedding (60 days out) and what we can decide on and pay for when we arrive. We want to do the $75pp one hr reception, but have NO IDEA what decorations for that ceremony OR reception (if any) or things like that. I am upgrading my bouquet- do I pay for that in advance? I am thinking of getting my hair done, but do I need to pay for that in advance? I am so unsure!! Any help is appreciated! :) Thanks, girls!

Jessica,

You can pay for things as you go or when you get down to the resort. You don't have to pay for anything in advance if you don't want too. They sometimes act like you really need to pay in advance, but I think only if you really want something guaranteed like the date & time, do you need to pay in advance. I paid for the PB collection I wanted, but nothing else. We plan on paying when we arrive & I can actually see things.

The $75pp dinner comes with standard resort linens & centerpieces for each table. I am sure your wedding coordinator can send you a picture (sorry, I don't have one anymore). There is also another option for a more traditional Jamaican buffet, but they don't list it.

You can take any decor for the ceremony or reception you want with you as well. Pro: it saves some money Con: hassle of getting it there. You can also let your wedding coordinator know in advance what you are looking for in the way of decor & they will get pricing for you from the local florist. I emailed pictures & asked for specific colors/items & she was able to get prices & if they could recreate the look.

I am taking chair sashes & silk flowers for extra decor at the ceremony that I found on ebay for super cheap. I have made place cards for the tables & fans for the ceremony. The resort will put everything out for you so you don't have to worry about a family member trying to decorate before the wedding.

I have also found out from past brides that just because the price is listed at a specific amount that you can do some bargaining. If you don't have $100+ to spend on a bouquet just ask for one in your price range & they will make it. That also works for choosing specific colors. If you don't see one you like take a picture & they will make it.

I hope this all helps. I call or email my wedding planner all the time. I think I have asked a million questions by now!

Sherri

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
