I am trying for a "sunset" colour scheme for our wedding reception. But I am at a loss as to which colours I should/can use and I need help.

I figure oranges and burgundy. What else? Does anyone have any inspiration pics?

    Thanks!!

My colors are very earthy, and I think that falls into the sunset theme ~ terracotta, latte brown, canary yellow, and red with hints of gold

Here's a link to my STD thread which definitely play on my colors: http://bestdestinati...om/forum/t30531

My bouquet and all the rest of the flowers will also follow suit with the color scheme ~ no pics of all that yet unfortunately as they are in the process of getting made!
Our wedsite, which is linked to my siggy, also features my wedding colors, along with my bridesmaids dresses (http://www.davidsbri....=29323&cfid=20), my bridesmaids' jewelry (http://bestdestinati...om/forum/t33390) and my wedding jewelry -- sorry no pic, I need to find it first!

There's so many colors besides earth tones that can fall into the sunset category ~ I've seen beautiful sunsets with hues of pink and purple too. Really it's just all up to you ~ just close your eyes and visualize the most amazing sunset and run with it. Just make sure you LOVE your colors and then weave it through every aspect of your wedding plans!

And have fun, it's all the little touches that really create your entire wedding vision!

When I think of sunset, I think of like oranges and pinks with all shades of like rust and fuschia... but you can do just about anything with that theme because sunsets range so far. I love the idea though... very tropical. Here are a couple color schemes I saw that may help:

I would go for burnt orange, purple (and/or dark pink), marroon/dark red...

I am also doing a sunset wedding theme.. but like MarieSam I am sticking with more natural colors.. browns, blue's, white's (of course for my dress and FI shirt) with gold accents. Here is what I have so far.

          STD (brown and gold):

Invite (I think, we r going to decide this weekend.. brown, blue and gold):
Click the image to open in full size.

          Flower Inspiration:
Click the image to open in full size.

BM Dresses (they will not be carrying flowers above, only I will; but they will have blue jewelry of some sort):
Click the image to open in full size.

          My Dress:
Click the image to open in full size.

FI will wear a white linen shirt and tan linen pants; GM's will wear tan linen pants and blue shirts.

          Hope this helps!

I like the earthy tones, browns, creams and then maybe add a pop of color somewhere.

I love the oranges and reds. You might like the color I choose for my bridesmaid.
