Dreams, paying for guests, ETC!! ahh!

So, I've been trying to find a lot of answers in the dreams thread, but there are so many pages so I'm hoping to find some answers here. Since we decided to do destination we really would like to pay for the majority of our family that we really want to be there. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what room rates for around 40 would cost?

Also, did anyone have a party for the guests that couldn't make it after the wedding?

And one last question, how far in advance do you need to book Dreams? We are looking to book for Oct 2010.

Thanks for any help!

Sara

The room rate vary by the time of year. So a Travel agent may be able to help you best and book you as a group to negotiate a lower rate. I used Tammy (Host) from this forum with wright travel agency.

I booked about 11 months in advance but I am sure that you can book closer to the date I am not sure how far in advance they will go, but I am sure that a travel agent can help you.

They can also negotiate some extras, like free nights for a site visit and upgraded room for your stay.

I think the best way is for you to talk to a travel agent, like Erika said Tammy (Host) is fabulous! I used her for my wedding and she set up a room block and was able to get great rates for our guests.

I paid for our three rooms, for both bridesmaid's and their husbands and for the groomsmen (they were single and shared a room).

I liked Dreams for the size and thier wedding experince. The hotel bars do close earlier but I thought that would actually be better for all of our parents and thier friends. the younger kids may head to town a few nights but we will have enought to share cab to town.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
