Hope this helps! I also asked about May and she said the prices would only go down by $100 or so.

I understand that, but the difference between the Riu Jalisco and the Decameron is $140 after taxes for the same week, and the resorts are very different.

We want to go to the Decameron in PV, but we don't want our guests to fork out $1800 after taxes for one week!

I'm beginning to wonder if its worth it to wait until the the air & hotel contracts are finalized.....huh.gif
Oh that is a great resort.. Decameron... I am currently working with a DW TA from Victoria who is great! She is with Flight Centre and she has been so amazing.. Not sure of the pricing for PV side as we are going to Cancun side, but our guests are paying 1940 for a week.. our resort is one of the more expensive ones I'd say.. but we got land only rates of 950 pp as well for those who have aeroplan points...

Hamster - Don't stress about booking it yet. We were so worried about trying to book early, but the truth is, these companies have big planes and they don't fill up as fast as we all assume they do! We're from Vancouver, and also used Lindsay and there were no problems at all not being in the same city. We booked for our wedding this January in June, and believe me, we had been shopping around since Feb. So don't worry, you have tons and tons of time!

I've been waiting for my rates from a couple different TA's. At first they were super helpful but it's like they just dropped off the face of the earth all of a sudden! I tried getting ahold of Natalie from this website but she hasn't replied to me in a week either, it's getting VERY frustrating.

Hey pepsi_babi69,

wow that is great! thanks for posting those. Are those prices per person or for two people (the double i mean) because per person 2000 seems pretty steep!! thanks for your input

Also from BC and planning a wedding in Dec. 09. We too are finding the rates a little steep (~$2300 for The Royal PDC!) so we are still looking for a resort with more affordable rates. Quick question, if we and our guests decide to book now and then the rates go down in the next few months, can we avail of those lower rates or are we "stuck" with our original rates?

Yes, you're "stuck." We booked with Signature and they offered a "price adjustment" guarantee, meaning that if rates went down lower than what we paid (1826 or so taxes in) then we would get the difference back. This didn't happen though. I say wait a little - maybe till the late Spring and watch the prices so you can see how they fluctuate. Then you can jump on it when it looks good. I sort of wish now we had waited a little longer to book because I still think that what we asked people to pay was a little steep.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
