Hey CnC,

I CANNOT WAIT!! We are going back and forth on the beach or the chapel. We want the beach cause ...well....it's the Caribbean but the gazebo is so pretty. So I feel like I will decide easier when I get there. We also decided to do dinner at the Steakhouse and then a private party at the Parrot bar....

What about youhuh.gif When are you getting there?? We are traveling May 7-15th.

We will be at the Colonial....

Hi Nicole!

When you say the steakhouse, do you mean Sea & Sea? I was actually thinking the same thing. (only b/c Sea&Sea sounds awfully like CnC - haha!) Have you seen the menu for each of the restaurants? I've requested it multiple times, but have not received them and getting a bit frustrated. If you do, would you mind sending it to me at [email protected]? Parrot bar - is that the one outside with option to hide under a awning if there's rain? I so need to get my details straight...

Where's everyone doing their reception? I'm thinking a dinner at a restaurant followed by private reception...

 

Anyone know what the court yard area in the open space outside (seems to me there's sitting for drinks and live music at night?) is called?

 

Any info on which restaurant has the best food?

 

How each restaurant blocks off the area for the large group?

Hi may girls,

I am getting married alittle after you all on the colonial side. I was there May 2009 for a site visit and would definitely recommend the gazebo or a different beach location (don't know if they do it) because the existing beach location has people really close to your ceremony and they are in swim wear so it can interfere with pictures/video...if it doesn't bother you then beach it up. I think the free dinner is worth it and Maritee told me the wedding menu is set and it is combo steak and fish with veggies and potato. You can pay $$$$ for lobster or other menus but I thought the menu was fine. The other restaurants are nice but I don't think they set up the wedding dinner anywhere else except the steak or seafood restaurant. We used a travel agent to organize everyone's details and to get us a group rate for airfare and check in at the hotel. I am so excited and can't wait for May to get here! I ordered real touch flowers for my wedding from plumeria wedding flower boutique that I found on here and ordered a toss bouquet so I could see everything early and I just got it today and it's awesome! I am using Photophil for my photograpy and florian from video punta cana for my videography.

Hi Girls!

 

Actually Sandra has these disappearing acts quiet often. I don't think they cover each other when they are gone. Once Sandra was out for like 3 weeks and I went over a month without a response. I had to get bridezillaish and call to speak to a manager. It worked..and I got an answer soon after.

Either way-patience is the key!!

 

I also considered doing the dinner and then a private reception-it would save a TON of money but I think it would be too much moving around for my guests..I'm having around 60-65. I have heard that they do a great job of blocking off the restaurant and decorating the tables.

As for us-we are doing the ceremony at the gazebo, cocktail hour near one of the bars and the reception at the parrot bar.

It has pics of all the ceremony/reception spots as well as sample bouquets, centerpieces etc etc

 

Also-regarding anyone looking for an outside photographer, but doesnt want to spend a fortune on travel expenses..I am using a photographer from a nearby town.

He is so reasonable and gave me a great deal on photos and video. He did my friends wedding and everything came out really nice.

 

I'll keep you guys posted! 3 more weeks and it'll be official!

Can't wait to post my review and the pics!!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

      Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
