Please be done by Feb 6th!! Please please please!! I love that pier... it's a great place to feed the fish from
Yeah let's hope! Then you can get your photos done there and share them with us!!! So exciting!
Hey question about your photographer... which package did you go with? I got some quick responses from them as well and they seem like a great photography team so I was wondering if you don't mind what you ended up paying for it all? I seen on the Lomas website that they changed their packages from what they told me before and its more money now... just curious.. and how far in advance did you have to pay them and such for them to hold your date?? I've emailed them today about these but figured if you knew already it would be slightly faster!!! Thanks!

OMG! That is great news! I insisted that we would have the beach wedding and not the gazebo because i hated the way the gazebo looked... but with the new pier... hmm... thankfully i am the only wedding on my date as yet, so i could theoretically change if i wanted!

Either way there can be some nice pictures on it!!! Thanks for the update!

And, you got a terrific deal! I am jealous now... but am sure my pictures will be amazing, even if i have to pay that stupid $500.00 fee!

The package I am getting for approx 600US is very basic... we can't afford to spend alot of $$ on pictures so I emailed them directly and asked if they could offer me anything for around $500... and then I 'buttered' them up telling them I love thier photos and can't afford the higher packages.. blah blah blah.. SO I am guessing they will take lots of photos and them maybe I'll slip him an extra couple bucks (as a tip and maybe to see if my package improves) lol

I'll let you all know how it all works out...

Oh ok cool! They actually emailed me back and they told me when I am booking with my WC that to mention that I was quoted the original prices and will be able to get my first choice for the package and price previously quoted to me. Which is great news, cause the one I was opting for went up to like 2500 instead of the $2033 I have a little more of a budget for photos cause they are one of the most important things I think... so we are going for the gusto! Our entire wedding we haven't set a budget so I'm fortunate that way to play around with pricing! T

great that they will honour the price!!

I just got this confirmation back from EDSS when I asked about the pier..

"Regarding your question, let me inform you that our new pier will be officially opening on Monday Dec. 28th: it will be a much larger pier, where we will be able to perform candlelight dinners with an exceptional view of Kantenah Bay and incredible weddings. "

Yippee!!!!!! This is a complete bonus for us, as we just assumed the pier would not be rebuilt for our return trip...

my main details are... my hair.. I don't know what I'm doing.. I decided to not 'prebook' a spa appointment and will try and haggle a hairdo that day, otherwise, just do it myself... not like it has to last the entire day.. just a couple hours... but it is an unknown.. soooo.. a little stressfull... and my nails.. I may go into Playa and get them done there.. make it an adventure.. lol

I am trying to get some 'loot bags' together, for the rooms, giving them a timeschedule and some goodies ... placecards and small favours (I think wine stoppers, but haven't got them yet) for the supper 'table' and raffia fans for the guests to use.. in case I am running a little late on wedding day... so they don't overheat...

Right now I am going though details with the wedding coordinator for the meal.. I have asked for the meal to be in Mia Casa (the best restaurant by far on the resort IMO) and they are asking for me.. we are only a small party of 10 and we'll see.. only concern is the lighting is very dim.. which is great for atmosphere.. but not for photos.. oh well...

Photographer

we are using Mexican Weddings.. we can't afford much, so I have a really reduced package... $578 I am really depending on family and friends to take good photos to supplement..

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
