That's a nice plan LolaTX especially if you are meeting up after dinner:)  What is the dessert?

KCDawn, you are a pro, are you always this on top of things?:)

I cannot believe I haven't thought of Facebook.  I am not always on it (because I am a teacher) so there is a lot I don't know about.  I really don't trust the privacy settings and am not a big fan of everyone on my list knowing what I am liking/viewing.  Ha ha... I am a pretty private person.  I guess this would be the best place to get a sneak peek of some of the fun things to do at secrets.

I found the page and there is a tun of info so thanks a bunch!

If you have a resort related question, I would post it on the facebook page rather than emailing the wedding coordinators to get the quickest response.  You'll also get answers and suggestions from other guests which is helpful.  If you look through the past posts, chances are someone has already asked the question and the answer is right there.

Hi Nicole, I think the price as quoted is the cost of the next package up.  It's not adjusted because you are getting more in those packages and that is how the justify the increase in price.  You can always customize the package to fit your needs.  Say upgrade you package, but remove something that you don't need or swap it for flowers for example.  Ladies, am I right?

I am new here and trying to figure out if we will be able to swing a Secret Maroma Beach wedding in January.  We know this is the place for us, however we're not sure when we'll be able to save enough.  January does not give us much time, but we did want a short engagement.

May question is this: I know that the first package is complimentary, we have decided to go with the Secrets Ultimate Package.  Do they apply a discount to the other packages to compensate for the Wedding in Paradise being free?  ie: Ultimate costs $2999 and the Wedding in Paradise is $949, do they adjust the price thus making the Ultimate $2050?

I hope I haven't confused anyone.  Thanks for your help in advance!!

Nicole

Hi beachbride, yup that is exactly what I meant.  How does it feel to so close???  Thank you!  I have since found a few good snippets of info on Facebook.

There will probably be a list of things going and give time/location when you get to the resort. Besides that, the entertainment staff will likely be out all day looking for people to participate in those things. Not sure if that is what you are asking, but that is the only thing I can think of.

Hello all, many unknowns floating through my head as July approaches.  I guess that's the tough part of destination weddings.  The unknown.  So I am now finalizing the beach bonfire.  We decided to include dinner on the beach.  A tad pricy.  It will be open, bar, canapés (apps of some kind) music system rental for iPod,  then buffet style dinner.  Valeria mentioned something about it being the same as international buffet-whatever that means.  I can send pricing if anyone is still curious.

Then we will just enjoy what's left of the bonfire.

My concern is that I'd much rather have a regular dinner, but it seems impossible to get a reservation/table for 30 at a regular restaurant.  Valeria didn't even respond to that question.  She just kind of skipped over it and responded to everything else.  I had heard that they were not willing to do that anyway. so... I am now wondering

Anyone heard anything about this buffet (international buffet)?  Is it any good?

Is anyone else doing dinner with the bonfire for their entire group?

How do you know what goes on at the resort on certain nights? :)  I too thought dinner on the beach would be cool. Kinda torn

You are too sweet!  I'm an accountant so I guess it's my nerdy tendency to read and research everything.  :-D

I've picked up on a few things just by reading reviews and posts on the Facebook page.  If you're curious about a specific night of the week, email the e-concierge to ask.  Her email is [email protected].  I saw this on the E-Concierge's Facebook page today:

I was wondering what days some of your theme parties are. Will be there in May. Want to plan an excursion and visiting Playa De Carmen, but dont want to miss your beach party or Mexican night!

I have read from somewhere (but I don't remember where) that one of the restaurants asks the reservation. Do you know which is?

Have you already choosen your canopy decoration? Do you have any pictures to show me?

Thanks

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
