Just FYI for those who are curious. The minister in the video above is the same who did our wedding. Those vows are the vows that are provided by the hotel. I think they are really nice. She asked the groom before hand if we wanted religious, not religious, etc.

Also, the DJ they used is the resort DJ I think. It is so much fun getting married at Secrets. I loved it so much and am wanting to go back!!!

Hey Nicc80! I just wanted to tell you good luck before you leave!  I am having my reception at the Italian restaurant so I hope it is good too!  I have heard mixed reviews on here and tripadvisor so I hope I like it!  How long are you staying?  We are getting there the 17th so if you are still there maybe I will see you :)

Thanks for confirming that is what you had for your wedding too.  That was beautiful!

Do guests see you if you exit for fist look pictures & couples pictures on the beach before the ceremony?  How long do they take?  When would I need to be ready by? if my wedding is at 5:30?

We're doing our pictures before the ceremony so we don't miss the cocktail hour.  FI would be way to fidgety during pictures if he knew he was missing the fun!  haha

I guess some of your guests could see you but they should be starting to get ready for the wedding so I'm hoping most of them will be in their rooms.  We also want to do pictures in the abandoned mansion which is off the resort so that will help too.  I'm not sure exactly how long we're supposed to allow for that.

KC-we did photos in the mansion and I would guess we were there for about 45 minutes. BUT, there are guards at the mansion some of the time and they will not let you in. The photographer MIGHT be able to pay the guards off with a $20, but I heard that they were getting more strict and even chased the photographers and bride/groom out yelling and screaming at them. So, just be prepared that you may not be able to get in. We were able to, but there were no guards there during that time. There was another time we tried to go just out of curiosity and were not able to bc the guards said no. Then the day after the wedding we went again and there were no guards. That being said, there is also an abandoned tiny resort in between Secrets and the mansion. It could be a cool place to get some photos. And if not, the resort has so many unique and beautiful options for photos. Hopefully you can get in the mansion though, bc those pics are amazing!!! Hopefully I will get my photos by the end of this week. I am so ready to see them!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
