    Hi, Ladies,

I was wondering if anyone who's been to Oahu or lives there can tell me a public beach on the North Shore that's big enough to accommodate about 100 people. I've been searching all over but can't seem to find the right info to make a sound decision on any specific beach location.

We're looking for a place to have our ceremony that big enough since we already have a place for our reception. Our reception location is in Laie, so ideally somewhere close to there. Thanks in advance!

      Hi PrincessIna,

If you are looking for a beach location for your ceremony, I believe that recently, there was a law that passed requiring a couple to secure a permit to get married on the beach in Hawaii. I would like to caution you and make sure that you have the right permit. I have heard that fines are stiff.

Do you have an officiant already? Our officiant, Rev. Alice Inoue, was the one who informed us about this. Perhaps you can shoot her an e-mail since I don't know the specifics? Or you can always go on Google.

We did not get a permit but we had our ceremony on Lanai Lookout and not on a beach. At that time also, we were not aware of this law.

      Best to you,

      Jess

And by the way, Sunset Beach is not too far from Laie and it is a huge beautiful beach.

          Hey Jess,

Thanks for that info. I'm going to have my WC look into Sunset Beach. I still haven't check into Rev. Alice but will do so soon. I'm such a procrastinator at times.

Check Keiki beach bungalows. They are privately owned but the peach is public. parking is kinda scarce as with anywhere on the Nshore, so you may want to hire a shuttle or valet service. The beach itself is located right next to Waimea (the popular surfing spot) but hardly anyone is ever at Keiki. I would send you some pics for reference but i'm not allowed to post anything cause i'm new to the forums...

that's actually a great idea imo. ke'iki beach is not swimmable because of the current so there is hardly anyone there. but it is beautiful!
