Sam - also the outdoor options are so beauitful there but of you want the party to go on - you definitely want to choose the indoor options....kinda sucks though

We are also getting married in town at the church on 5th Ave

Where is everyone planning to get their hair and make-up done? Most recommendations are for people who come to the hotel. Anyone know what type of make-up the spa uses?

I dont think you have anything to worry about.  My DH and I just returned from playacar palace and had a wonderful trip.  The service of the staff was great, the location was the best and the beach is perfect.  We had no problem using up our $1500 credit as it was quite easy to book the tours and we upgraded our room from the resort view to concierge level with an ocean view.  The only thing I would say was on the negative side was only having 3 restaurants, as we got a little bored.  There was always something good to eat but sometimes at the buffet somethings just sat took long.  We loved the asian restaurants but the italian was not so great for our tastes as we have tons of great italian restaurants here in nj(but others we met there loved it so to each its own).  Also they loved to put cream cheese in a hand full of the dishes (alot of the sushi had it and some of the italian) and i dont like cream cheese so i dont think that helped.

We only saw one wedding talking place for the whole week so that was nice compared to where we got married as they had one or two everyday.  Let me know if you want any pics or info on the tours as we did most of them.

I would just like to warn everyone that Gilberto quit.  Its making things extremely difficult for my wedding in one month at Playacar.  My advice would be for anyone that still has an option to choose a resort, don't choose Palace right now. The new coordinator I have been assigned to does not seem organized and is making lots of errors.  Im sure she is completely overloaded. If anyone still has the option, I would suggest choosing some place other than the Palace Resorts in and around PDC/Cozumel.

UGH.  That's a total bummer about Gilberto - I really liked him when we met back in January on our site visit.  THanks for passing this info along.  I still have 3 months until our Wedding, so hopefully things will get better!

                  Hi Everyone!

Does anyone have photos from your wedding at Playacar Palace that you can post or send me?  I am looking to get married there in April of 2011 but haven't had any luck finding real wedding photos of the ceromony and reception. Where is everyone having their ceromony and reception at?  I was thinking of the ballroom for the reception and don't know about the ceromony yet.

                  Thank you!!!

We're doing our ceremony on the beach, not sure where we'll have the reception though. If you go on Tripadvisor to the PP reviews there's a review from a girl who got married there in May. I'm pretty sure she's not on this forum, but I sent her a message asking for any pics and she added me on Facebook so I could see them. She has a TON of great pictures of the ceremony set-up, the resort in general, and the reception. Her sn on tripadvisor is maria3405 and if you want to see what the set-up looks like on the new beach she can probably help! Here's her review: http://www.tripadvis..._Peninsula.html

I agree the new coordinator is of no help and I am a little scared of what it will be like when we get there in November.
