Father/Daughter Alternatives

Recommended Posts

Okay, I have looked through HUNDREDS (Maybe I'm exaggerating) of lists of songs that I could use for my father/daughter dance.

I'm being so difficult and it's driving me crazy.

This is one of the most important dances to me because my dad and I are very close.

I'm looking for something with a bit of an edge but I still want to have a beautiful song.

For example..

For my first dance it's going to be "Thank You" (originally performed by Led Zepplin) By Chris Cornell.

It's a beautiful song, but it has a bit of a rock edge to it.

Do ANY of you girls have any suggestionshuh.gif?

Do you two have a song that is special to you both?

Maybe something you used to sing when you were little?

A friend danced with her dad to "Rainbow Connection" by Kermit the Frog because it was something that she always sang to him and they used to watch the Muppets together.

John Mayer's "Daughters" is kinda different.

i got stressed trying to find the perfect song for me & my dad too. so i let him pick. he ended up picking a song i actually sort of hated, but it was still perfect anyway. my stepmom told me he spent a whole week on the computer going through music trying to find the perfect song. so then i didnt hate it as much when i realized that he spent soooo much time looking for what he thought was the perfect song for us.

honestly, the only thing i remember is having such a fun time dancing with my dad, having that daddy-daughter moment, that i dont even remember the music playing!

definitely check out lyrics ... not sure all these would be appropriate for father/daughter, just looking for songs that are sorta "rock" ballads.

i'll stand by you - the pretenders

stand by me - john lennon

good riddance (time of your life) - green day

your song - elton john

sweet child o' mine - guns 'n' roses

i don't wanna miss a thing - aerosmith

time after time - cyndi lauper or bon jovi

drive - the cars

wherever you will go - the calling

i didn't want to do a real slow song with my dad so i've been looking at different options. since my friends call my dad 'pistol pete' because he's a total gun-toter and has all daughters (no sons), i'm thinking we're going to dance to rodney atkins "cleaning this gun" hahha

brown eyed girl is also a contender

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
