Less than a month to go

Recommended Posts

Hi! Just a couple of random questions. I read somewhere that the WC will contact you around a month before the wedding to go over some of the details. What details need to be figured out before we get there? I already have the steakhouse confirmed but she said that I wouldn't be able to confirm the disco until arrival. What about flowers and photography? Is this done on site or through email? Also I am curious to know if all the extra's that I want to get have to be paid in cash or can go on a credit card. I don't want to carry around a couple thousand of dollars in cash. If anyone can help or direct me in the right direction that would be amazing!

I made a point of getting in touch with the WC to go over a few details instead of waiting until I get down there.

I'm not having any guests at my wedding so I don't need as many things as you would.

If you are getting flowers with your package I'm sure the WC should have sent you an email with details on flowers & cakes.

I would send an email inquiring on the items you want/need!

I missed your question about photography. I know with ROR if you have any packages other than the free package the on site photographer will automatically show up at the wedding. If you have a free package you will have to make arrangements for the photographer to be at your wedding or hire someone outside.

The photographer at ROR only takes cash...no CC. I plan on paying for everything via Travellers Cheques.

Ellipse, this might sound like a dumb question, but how do travellers cheques work exactly? I've gotten them before at the bank where you have to sign them in front of them and then I've taken them abroad where you take them to a bank and sign on the second line and they cash them. Are you actually cashing them out down there or just signing them the second time and they accept them that way?

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure how it works..but I'm under the impression they are treated the same as cash.

I don't think there is a need to take them to a bank there and cash them. The process of signing it before you give..yes..that I think that would be correct.

I'll have more answers once I actually buy them and cash them wink.gif

actually micheal and the photoshop didn't even contact me the day of my wedding offering services... it may be that i got approval months prior letting them know that i was bringing my own photographer....... as far as flowers contact taiflora directly ...jenvvie is awesome... i did changes to my arrangements up until 2 days prior to ceremony.... if they are not flowers that are available in jamaica they have to special order.... my flowers arrived about 4- 5 hours prior to ceremony... they were great...

Hey Guys

I just sent Travellers checks to Jamaica to Tai Flora Services. I had been talking to Jennivie for a while and she has to special order my flowers so I had to put down a deposit. So I went to the bank you sign one line there, then I had to sign the other line before putting them in the mail and put who they were too on them. What I was told about taking them down there is you sign one line at bank then sign second line in front on person you are giving it to and address it to them.

hope this helps!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
