    Hey everybody,

Are people getting any rates (group, internet or otherwise) for January 2010 and beyond? It seems they should be available by now.

I know the website itself lists under $150/ni for Oct for example, but seems to list "no availability" beyond that.

    Thanks for any advice!
    Chris

I have the same concerns. I spoke to Candy and the other girl who does room groups when I was down there. They have a discounted room rate they can give you, but it wasn't a discount at all (especially compared to what we were seeing online). I asked why it was so much higher than the internet pricing (even before the swine flu thing happened) and they said a completely different group manages their room rates so we can use the internet to book lower rates if we want. They just dont know when they would be posted and how much it will be. Seems frustrating and strange that they don't "own" what happens on the internet for room rates.

If anyone hears anything different for 4/2010, let me know!!

I have a question....I was all ready to book the BBGE, but then I started reading that their stretch of beach wasn't so nice. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks!

That was our big concern as well, but I ended up reading a lot of the reviews on Trip Advisor, and it seems that on really windy/rainy days (and a few days after) the beach is bad. Overall it's alright, but not the clear tranquil blue water.
We still ended up booking it! Hope this helps :)

We were there in mid-May and the beach is very nice. The sand is raked every morning and is a pretty white color. The water is best from the middle of the resort and to the north towards the VIP beach. There was quite a bit of seaweed in the water close to where you get the hobie cats and kayaks. It seems to stay in that area. We spent alot of time on the beach (VIP area) and also in the water and loved it. We did go to Playa del Carmen and of course the water there is awesomely gorgeous, but you also won't be unhappy with BBGE. I'll try to post some photos for you. :)

The pool is HUGE. There are lots of chairs that sit in the edge of the water.

This is the location of the weddings right outside Jaal-ha restaurant. If you look closely you can see the framework of the gazebo; once decorated it is very pretty. This area is fairly private with beautiful sand. There were chairs set out for about 60 at one of the weddings we saw. In the background you can see the beach beds in the VIP area.

As you can tell, the resort was VERY empty when we were there. We used the Hobie Cats alot.

Do you mean they won't know when internet rates will be made available via their site? I notice their website doesn't list any rooms available past October. I find it hard to believe they are booked up from November onwards, i.e. you'd think they'd at least list room at "rack rate". I'm sure plenty of people are trying to book normal winter vacations (never mind weddings) - and can't.

The whole room pricing unavailibity makes it pretty tough for guests to plan to come to your wedding, and is frustrating.

                      Hi Everyone,
My FI and I are thinking this may be the resort for us. If anyone has any package info/pics it would really helpful.

                      Thanks, Ashley
