  1. Some of the flowers in the ones I had in the album were actually additional. Pretty much if you want calalilies in your bouquet its more. I found that out after I chose the bouquet with them in. I just told her to use a different flower and it brought it back down to what was included in the package. No reception pictures unfortunately. I will take lots of pics of mine in APril, unfortunately, I didnt see any recpetion pics online yet.
  2. HI everyone! Wanted to pass my good news to you all! I am heading to BBGE for my wedding in April and we plan to have about 100 guests attending. Although Candy was nice when I did talk to her, it could get frustrating trying to get a reponse back. (as I am sure most of you have read in these posts, there seems to be a lot of frustration communicating with her prior to the wedding). Anyway, I got a call from a new wedding coordinator on Monday named Nadia...and she seems AWESOME!! Called me right away, talked for an hour about all the details of my wedding, was sooo nice, and told me several times how much she wanted to get every detail perfect to my wedding. I write her twice since then and she responds that same day. Wooohoooo! My thoughts on perfect restaurants....I am having our reception in the Steakhouse (restaurant on the beach) since i have such a large group. It is all windows right out over the beach, beautiful! But no AC, so make sure you pick a cooler month if you choose to do it there. By the way, I posted lots of pics of all the restaurants and the resort in an earlier post if you click on that link you should get a good feel for the places to have your reception inside.

  4. I have the same concerns. I spoke to Candy and the other girl who does room groups when I was down there. They have a discounted room rate they can give you, but it wasn't a discount at all (especially compared to what we were seeing online). I asked why it was so much higher than the internet pricing (even before the swine flu thing happened) and they said a completely different group manages their room rates so we can use the internet to book lower rates if we want. They just dont know when they would be posted and how much it will be. Seems frustrating and strange that they don't "own" what happens on the internet for room rates. If anyone hears anything different for 4/2010, let me know!!
  5. Hello girls, Well we just got back tonight from our wedding site visit and as promised I took TONS of pictures. Place was amazing, they were at 22% occupancy so not all restaurants were open every night, however always the buffet and 2 of the a la cart were always open for dinner. Staff was great, place was georgous, we cant wait to have our wedding there! Just a little info about the area: We looked at Resorts in Riviera Maya, Playa Del Carmen, and Playacar. Resorts in Riviera Maya (off the 307), the drive there is kinda crappy area unless you're in the resort itself. Playa Del Carmen and Playacar (south of playa del carmen) the area was MUCH nicer around the resorts. Bluebay: The pools are amazing, the food (yes even the buffet was soooo good), and the wait staff make great drinks and literally a guy would walk around the pool and get your attention if in the pool, to get your drink order...it was great! Restaurants: The restaurants have a buffet option for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food was great! Then there was 3 ala carte restaurants where you have to pre-set up your dinners the night before for one of these locations. It is a sit down, 3 course dinner, that takes a lot of time, but the food is great and no extra cost (and the A La carte had AC in them). We didnt book the night before and could walk up and get in each night, but only b/c occupancy was down. Ok, in my pics the restaurants went in this order. By the main pool is the restaurant called Jaal-Ha. It is where they had the breakfast and lunch buffet. It is 2 big rooms, with access from either on to the beach and there are windows all around the walls wih ocean views. They said you can rent this for a reception, however it did not have AC in this place. Nice, more open air and casual. Either side could fit probably 200 people easy. Then in the pics is one of the "a la carte" restaurants - Don Isi, which is the Mexican restaurant. It was ok, lots of color in this place. The next restaurant is the place where they had the dinner buffet and it was georgous inside. Did not feel like you were in a "buffet" restaurant. I only have 2 pics of this place, but it was great. Not sure if you can rent this for a reception since its the dinner buffet location. Next in my pics if the "lounge" area, very very cool, wooden floor and lounge seats all over. This is how you get into the other 2 A La Carte restaurants. You walk through the Lounge, and then enter a small area where you turn right for Di'Rossi (or the Italian Restaurant) or turn left to the L'Atallier (or the French restaurant). The next place is Di'Rossi (or the Italian Restaurant), it was my favorite. It had 2 huge rooms, very beautiful inside and a red blown glass on the ceiling in the main entrance. You could fit 100-200 in this location. The other is L'Atallier (or the French restaurant), this place also was very nice, but was much smaller (probably could only fit 70ish people max?). Extras: I found out you can bring decorations and have them do all the decorating for you if you send Candy pics of what you want. Also, I found out you can usually get a better room rate online than using their "group discount" through the hotel. Beach was ok, it wasn't nearly as beautiful (turquoise waters) like some of the beaches in Playa Del Carmen or Playacar, however it reminded me of a typical florida beach. Point is it still had a beach, but the pool is SOO amazing you'll never want to leave anyways. The buildings 1-5 are so much closer to everything, the other building (6- have a great pool too, but are a litte bit more of a hike to the main pool/beach (I took pics of the walkway between the 2 spots, it a beautiful walk and we didn't mind it at all!) They have staff in golfcarts going back and forth between the buildings ALL day anyways. There is a discotec that opens each night near the "VIP" beach area, it was a blast, DJs spinning and lots of people. This is not near the buildings so it wont keep you up whatever bldg you stay. Hope all this help you girls, I think we are going to book this place for next year, although the area around the resort (road getting there) is kinda sketchy, the resort is so amazing you forget about it. Good Luck! -Kerri Snapfish: Share:Registration

In the mean time, if you have any specific questions, let me know so I can include answers in my "report." Raegan Raegan, Thanks so much for coming back and helping post pic for all of us! I would love to see any reception pics you have (with it being decorated for a wedding). Also, i would love to see the wedding pics (especially if you did it and it wasn't on the beach.) How were the linens they used, the coordinators, the flowers and centerpieces, anything we should make sure to bring there ourselves?? Cant wait to see pics! Kerri
  10. Jojo, Thanks!! I was so confused about what was what (for all the locations), this attachment was perfect!! We will all anxiously be awaiting pics of your wedding at this location (and if you sneek a few pics of anything else interesting, it would be great to see!) Thanks again, you've been great! Kerri

If anyone can attach any of the reception pics it may be easier for anyone to view them (I know a lot of you keep emailing them to all of us). All of you have been such a big help with everything....thanks!
  12. AMC83, Thanks so much for sending me pictures of BB, if you can send me the pics of centerpieces that would be great!! [email protected]

My email is [email protected]. If anyone needs pictures of the other restaurants, i.e. the French one, the Mexican one, the Steakhouse, I have some. Not sure how to post them, but let me know your email and I can send them. ------------------- AMC83, I would love to see the pics of the reception locations, can you send them to me? 14. I just want to say thanks for all your replies and I welcome any additionals. I would never have thought to look at some of the links and locations all of you have sent me and they all look sop beautiful. Im so glad all of the people on this site are so helpful, not sure how easy it would be to plan a wedding based off some online pics in another country, so Thanks!!! Fahm, Thanks for sending that link, that place looks amazing, I am very curious if you plan to have your wedding there and about your experience. Please post.
  15. Hi Pribzrl, WOW, 130pp Thats a great rate, every other place I have been looking at is much more expensive. I really dont want to make my guests pay that much. How quickly did they give you this rate? Did you have to wait to x months before the wedding to get the rate locked in? Thanks for any help you can give me!
  16. Every resort in Playa del Carmen is georgous, but with the way things are right now, I cant imagine making people pay over 200 per person per night. Asking a couple to pay $500 per night seems a lot. Any advice of non-inclusive resorts or ones that are not as expensive for the pp rate? (I'd be willing to pay more if the guests can payu less) ANy advice?
  17. OK great, thanks for the information! DId you go through a travel agent? Do you find that it helped? I heard I maybe should go through a travel agent for price help and because they can help make sure you get what you pay for, so Ive been considering, curious your thoughts on this. Also, any thoughts from your guests on the pricing? I love the places in Playa del Carmen so much, but I am afraid people will think 200+ per person per night is too much. I would love to find a place that is more like 100 or 150 per person, so a couple would only have to pay 200-300 per rooom. However, I havent seen anything close to that rate. Any advice? Any thoughts from your guests? I will go check out the string on Riu PM Brides too, thanks for your help!
  18. Hello Tylergirl, I love the location you picked!!! How are the rates for the guests coming to your wedding?
  19. Hello Everyone, My name is Kerri and I am planning to get married next year sometime. I have been back and forth between Florida and Playa del Carmen for our location. I want a really nice resort for all my guests to stay without it costing me or then a fortune. Any advice? Thanks!!
