    My dear fellow brides,
I'm posting from the airport, waiting on my connection, on my way down. Cannot tell you how fast the last two weeks went by, so all the little thing you think you can do at the last minute, well start working on them now! 110 guests, 49 rooms booked and a lot of anxiety on my gut! Ill try to post when I get down there and will
try to take as many pic I can of areas, restaurants and decor. Can't believe its finally here! Good luck with the rest of your planning(swine flu free - cdc just raised the travel warning, things are back on track, thank god!). More to come...

      Ohh Hey Priscila!
It's like you're bringing us down there with you! :) I feel so excited for you!
Have a great time, congratulations again!! Wish you the best!!!!!

nkuzik, thanks for the good words! July is actually like half the price of christmas time! So I'm trying to consider all that before making a decision... You sure made me feel less anxious about summer time! And hey, weather is unpredictable! So I try no to worry too much about it.
      All you need is love

Does anynone know if they have someone at the resort to do hair? It's so hard picking a resort! So many decisions! Has anyone looked into Cozumel at all?

My husband and I just returned from a week's stay at BBGE. It was running about 25% full. They are not using buildings 6, 7, 8 at all or the pool or snack bar at that area. Breakfast and lunch buffets are at the Jaal-ha restaurant, and dinner buffet is at the Festival restaurant. We also had Italian, Mexican, Steakhouse, Seafood and Oriental food each night. They convert one of the 3 a la cart restaurants into a specialty restaurant.

We did have problems with mosquitoes on our patio area. They are everywhere in the grass outside the rooms. As long as we stayed away from that we were ok. Also, it seems a bit noisy - you can hear doors slamming and people walking by, but by turning your fan on high it filters out most of the noise. The beach was very nice. Here's a big tip - go to the VIP area. They have a private bar and covered beach chairs; it is very private and nice, and no one asks you if you belong there. :)

We used the hobie cats every day - they are free to use as long as you have some experience with sailing. We did a "refresher" course for $17 and then took one out every day after that. It was great fun. Also, the pool is huge and very nice.

There were two weddings while we were there. One was very small and another had 60 guests. The gazebo is on a quiet section of the beach and we saw them raking the seaweed from the sand to make it nice. Both weddings had the gazebo decorated with white. The large wedding had a beautiful reception with a dance and fire dancers. They had huge round balloon-type lights that were really pretty.

              MelanieS,

Thanks so much for the tips!

Do you remember where the two wedding parties had their reception? Was there an actual gazebo for the ceremony or was there a chupah type set up for the beach ceremony?

              Thanks again!

The spa at the resort do hair. I will attach the spa pricing but I don't know if the pricing is still current. I don't have a name of a spa person to recommend to you. Maybe the other ladies do.

As for Cozumel, I didn't look into it at all b'cos I wanted something closer to Playa.

I remember going to Blue Bay Esmeralda when it first opened I think late 2006--I remembered it to be a great resort in terms of the food, decor, staff, but it was a little bit too quiet for my tastes--wonder what it is like now?

melanieS, thanks for the info! And to repeat jojo, if you know where they had their receptions that would be great to know! Also, thanks for the details on the fire dancers and the ball lights, that sounds very cool and something we would love to have at ours...any more details on that wedding? any pics by chance? :)
