    Hi All,
I saw this and thought I might post for all the other December brides out there. We thought that since we are getting married a couple week before Christmas we would give out ornaments with sand from the ceremony beach as favors. That way our family would be able to hang it on their Christmas tree and remember the wedding each year.

We are going to get glass paint pens from a craft store and add our names, date and location to it. Here are just a couple of the shapes:

    Original from another BDW bride:

Another I found in square shape:

    Flat and round shape example:

Right now I am leaning towards the flat round ones. Since it would take very little sand to make it look 1/2 full and that would make it much lighter to hang. Not sure about adding shells...

Anyone else interested in doing this? Carla

They just updated the Picasa Web program I use for my planning album. They have been having issues since. Press F5 and see if a refresh of the browser helps. Hopefully Picasa will get this all straightened out soon.

Very Cute. My mother made me very similar ones for my baby shower years ago. I think she got them at Michael's. I would recommend the plastic as they last longer.

I'm thinking of making some christmas decorations like this to use as present toppers to give a little DW 'beachy' feel to our gifts this year - especially since most family is getting large framed pics of their fave photos.

These are so cute. I'm planning on doing it [even though our wedding is in February].

We want to give them [empty] to our guests so that they can fill them up themselves. We plan on throwing them into the OOT bags with a cute little saying about filling them up with sand, shells, or whatever they want, for their own keepsakes.

I saw these at Michael's for sale. They are sort of expensive, but I'm sure that once it gets closer to Christmas time, they will go on sale.
