Grand Sunset Princess Resort

Recommended Posts

Hi Katie!

We paid $1500 for the dance floor. Its kind of pricey but worth every penny! How much have they quoted you?

It was $1500 for the beach reception which included the bar, set up of the tables and chairs.

It was the resort DJ and it cost $650. We had an MC and he dealt with the DJ. We just brought our ipod again with the songs for first dances and he showed the DJ what song to play at certain times. The microphone was included with this as well.

The after party at the resort disco was great. Not all of our guests went to the disco but it didn't hurt that we had a large group with us.  By that time you are sooo wedding pumped from all the events earlier its hard not to have fun. Especially if you stay in your wedding dress!  The disco was like being at a mini club. There are other hotel guests there of course but it just added to our fun.  We also went to the sports bar before & after the disco for nachos and hot dogs.

If you think of any other questions just let me know!

Robynn you rock, thx so much for this additional info.

I believe the more expensive dancefloor was something like 1600, but I am planning on bargaining with resorts regardless of the quotes they give over email lol!

So with the 1500 for the reception, was this cost at a PER PERSON Rate? Or did they just say "50 people, 3hrs of service, 1500". So glad the MC and DJ worked out, and 650 is not too bad for a DJ.

Yay for discos and wedding pump! Eeek so excited :):)  Thanks again Robynn! I am sure I'll hit ya up again for q's later ;)

Good luck with the bargaining - they are pretty good at saying no. lol The reception was cost per person, but I can't remember the rates.

I also meant to ask you how you organized your dance reception - did you do your "grand entrance" here, with the first dance, etc? Then speeches? We discussed how we would potnetially set this up since we have a separate place for a dinner (i.e. we can't do speeches at the dinner location, as per resort's feedback)>

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
