I think I gave my photographer about $150-I was also super flustered and just handed him money :) well worth it though

I'm a June 2010 bride! I have to start narrowing down the details because time flies and I have not done much because my date feels so far out! I am hoping to hold and outdoor reception on the beach for my June 22, 2010 date, but will it be too hot out? I'm hoping the ocean breeze will keep us cool because I really want it outdoors!

Hello Everyone! I'm a bit confused about the transportation from Cancun Airport to the resort for our guests. Am I correct in understanding that there is no FREE option? In other words, there is no free shuttle that runs from the airport to the resort?

I got some info from our TA stating that private transport is recommended, as shared shuttle service is not always available. The info states the costs for private transport ($300 roundtrip for 1-7 people in a van) as well as for shared shuttle service ($55 per person, minimum of 2 passengers). I'm not totally clear on what the difference is.

If there is in fact no free option, which type of transportation are others opting for? Private van, or shared shuttle? Are the brides here paying for guest transport, or just having guests pick up the costs themselves?

Thanks all!

there is no free option for transfers from the airport. I would tell you to do a private transfer that takes you right to the resort vs stopping and dropping off people are other resorts on the way. The ride from the airport to Dreams Tulum is about an hour and 20 minutes. I have heard people who do a non private transfer say that it took them about 2 hours from the airport.

Also, our guests paid for the transfers themselves and the travel agent took care of it fro them

Hey girls, I saw a post a few pages back that the daily bike tours to the ruins has been discontinued!! I was really looking forward to doing this again and have been telling my guests about it for months! For upcoming brides heading to Tulum, would you be kind enough to find out if this is true and maybe bring back a list of tours they offerhuh.gif

Also, someone asked about the price of the taxi to the ruins. If I remember correctly, it was about $7 when I went about 4 years ago, so if the prices have gone up, I don't think it should be more than $10 now.

Spoke to Baltobabe on the Dreams forum yesterday and she confirmed that they no longer offer bike tours to the ruins. sad.gif Apparently they have extended the highway and due to health and safety it is now considered unsafe for bike tours.

I thought I read ages ago that its poss to walk along the beach so any info on if this is still poss would be appreciated.

I think it all depends on who you go through. I used an Apple vacations place that uses gogo vacations and the shuttle is included in the price. Perhaps you can check on that? I know our guests all have a private shuttle to and from the airport---that was a big thing I wanted to be part of the package. Hope this helps!

Hey everyone,

So I am having the hardest time trying to figure out what to include on my programs. My main problem is that since I am just doing a civil ceremony (not legal) I am not sure what exactly they will do.

Could anyone tell me what they have included in theirs?

Thank you so much:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
