Hello,

I'm planning a wedding in Mexico for February 2009. I have been reviewing all the great info on this site regarding locations, but I am now stuck between Cabo and Puerto Vallarta. My FH loves the gazebo at the Riu Jalisco in PV, but I really love some of the sites/resorts in Cabo.

The other issue is expenses for our guests because we want to do an all inclusive. From my research it looks like PV may be a little cheaper for our guests. Any information you can offer on AI's in Cabo or PV would be great. Is it even realistic to think that we can get rates for about $800-$1000 per person for say 3 nights?

I'm running out of time and need to make decision soon, I look forward to your feedback.

Well I am sure you can't go wrong with either one of them judging by pictures! I went to Cabo for my friends wedding. We stayed at the Dreams Resort and it was by far the best place I have ever been. There was nothing that I could complain about. She had 22 guest and everyone fell in love. Hope that where ever you pick is wonderful for you.

Hey there- You are correct I looked into this option also.

We are staying at the Dreams Resort in PV which is running $130 pp a night all-inclusive. I believe in Feb it runs a little more. We are having our ceremony at the resort then shuttling everyone to a private villa on the beach about 3 mins away from the resort. If you would like more information on pricing and such please PM me. Best of luck.

Check out thedazzlingdetails.com and plushcatering.com those are who we are using for our wedding and we are very pleased with teh costs.

Best

Kathy

I think you will find that PV is a tad cheaper than Cabo. I think it's primarily due to the popularity of Cabo.

We stayed at Barcelo de la Jolla Mismaloya. While it's further away from town, (just south of Dreams) my guests were able to say for 7 days ranging $1200-1500 pp. This includes airfare.

The food was good- although Dreams has more variety of A la Cartes. But the price is under what Dreams charges. We originally wanted to stay at Dreams, but we decided on Barcelo because it was more affordable for our guests.

Let me know if you have any questions!

You can work with that budget in Cabo, our wedding is at Dreams... I know rates change, but there are a ton of choices. I would read wedding reviews and look at pics. That worked for us, we just researched this site and read trip advisor reviews! Go on u-tube as well! Lot of wedding videos! You'll know what you want when you see it! Both locations are G-R-E-A-T! Best of luck to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
