How fun!!  What perks do you get for going back?  I thought I read something about that somewhere.

FI keeps joking with me about what I will do once I have no weddings/receptions to plan.  Told him I'm already thinking of our vacation in May once he graduates with his masters and our 1 yr anniversary trip haha.  I always have to be looking forward to some type of vacation.

I'm actually not sure what perks we could get?  Maybe I'll send them a message and find out!  We are going to book through BJ's this time because they have great vacation package prices!  My husband asked me the same thing, and planning vacations is exactly what I'm doing LOL.  We are already heading to clearwater for the phillies spring training over my spring break in april and then heading back to Mexico in June! haha.  Then its baby-makin' time ;o)

Taryn, my fiance says the same thing...what will I spend most of my time doing when I don't have the wedding to plan anymore??? Haha...he's like, if we didn't have the dog or the wedding, you would have nothing to do! I am slightly obsessed with our puppy also:)

My wedding is only 3 weeks after yours, so I am super excited to hear what you have to say about the place! I was just stalking tripadvisor again and almost all the reviews from August were given 5 out of 5 stars!!! There was only one miserable person who gave it 1 star and said, it's horrid stay away. Hahaha seems a little extreme to me...

So Jess, I wanted to ask you, did you bring music along for your dinner reception at Mundaca? Like an ipod dock or something?? I'm still debating on this...if it's not necessary, I'm not going to waste my time with it!

ALso, in the reviews on tripadvisor, it sounded like people were using alot of their resort credit on the spa (one girl said like 750 dollars worth)...I thought we could only use like $250 on spa, or did that change??

hahahaha...I actually messaged one of those people who gave it a 1 and said it was a "scam" to tell them I couldn't believe they honestly felt that way about such a wonderful place (out a sheer entertainment for myself of course LOL) and she wrote back saying I must be an employee of the place and that she felt sorry for me and my guests that I had to have my wedding at such an awful place...hahaha.  I laughed so hard at her.  It really does shock me that few people have such a "horrid" experience there!?!?!  I can't even fathom how that would be possible!!!  I too am a tripadvisor stalker ;o)

I didn't bring any music for my reception, I really don't think it would have been necessary.  We only had 16 people there and we were all very content with conversations and eating.  I do think the music that we hired was great for the cocktail party though.  Even though I think just conversation would have been fine there too, it was really nice to have the mexican music in the background (we hired the trio).

When we were there they were allowing you to spend all $1500 of resort dollars at the spa if you wanted to!  I definitely spent over the original $300 limit.  They did change a few things since we signed up -- like there is a limit of $200 for the dolphin swim, so if two go then you have to pay like $58.  But there were also other things you could spend your dollars too that aren't listed.  4 of the couples that came for the wedding used their dollars for photo shoots, a few others used $100 towards a 3-bottle tequila set...and no one did this, but you can also use them to buy a spa product gift pack if you are trying to use them up.  I actually even used some other peoples dollars for things -- like I made a hair appointment under my moms for my TTD session, and my mother in law had spa sessions she signed up for and didn't want to go, so I went to those too! haha.

You must be getting so excited, it's just around the corner! And I'm sure it's a great feeling to have accomplished so much and feelin good about your checklist :)

I'm less than 8 months out...got Del Sol confirmed, picked up my dress, honeymoon booked, bout to send out the invites, just booked Fernando for makeup/hair...looking at BM dresses and still trying to decide if I'm going to go with JSAV for our DJ or one of the others I've read about (Doremixx, Mannia, etc.) - we definitely want a DJ bc we have quite the party/dance crowd lol, but not sure I want to pay more day passes!

I'd love to start making OOT bags & favors, but don't wanna start until I have a better idea of who's coming....I have a feeling my guests might be like yours & wait until the last minute! :(

Hi Sachele,

Thanks for writing back. I am having the Welcome Party at Cove Terrace then dinner at Mundaca as well. Reception at Spa Terace. I actually do not know who will be doing my make- up and hair. I scheduled it at the resort's salon. I do not wear a lot of make-up so hopefully this will not be a big deal. I can always corect it myself if I need to. :) Time is flying by!!!

Who's doing your hair/makeup?

Hello Ladies!

How is everybody doing? It's exactly 63 days to go for me. Our Wedding Shower is on October 1st and hopefully will be a hit...Didn't expect it and was really surprised that so many people wanted to help and offered to cook, bake, decorate etc I feel like the only thing I need to do is, have a dress/suit fitting, create wedding programs and work on our itinerary of extra activities. Sachele and Taryn.. here's a question for you two... Who is your wedding coordinator? Mine is Cristina. I am totally happy with her so far.. Are you happy with yours?

Jess thanks for still hanging here with us... and helping...

Have a Great Labor Day Weekend Everyone!!!!

Jess I absolutely LOVE that you messaged the cranky person on tripadvisor...that literally had me laughing out loud!! Some people are so ridiculous:/

My dress officially came in the mail so I was excited about that! Just have to get alterations done now. We are having issues with people booking also...I have a feeling many people are going to be very last minute, or not come at all. But oh well, the important people are there:)

Well it was Wilma....and then Cristina...and then I just got an email from a Mercedes.  I am getting confused.  Hopefully there is no confusion on what has already been agreed upon for my wedding.  Cristina has been really good and has answered all my questions.  I hope I get to stay with her.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
