Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello Mystique517,

Thanks so much for sharing your decoration pictures and comments. I am now re-thinking my decision to buy decorations from the resort and am searching Etsy for luminieries and pomanders.

Hi all!

For those brides that have already had their wedding with Azul, what menu did you choose for your reception?  We went to Mexico for the Bride Dress Rehearsal and were not impressed at all with the surf and turf option that they served for lunch. We thought that would be an easy choice but it was not prepared well at all so now we're looking at other options.  We'd be interested in hearing what others had and if they and their party enjoyed it.

Thanks!

Jennypert - Thank you! We really did end up saving a LOT of money by bringing our own décor (even with the additional baggage fee!). Let me know if you need any help.

BeachBrideToBe - We chose the family style option for our menu which worked out really nicely!! The only items that were placed at the middle of the table were the salads and appetizers. The white gloved servers actually served the main courses (there were a LOT of options from chicken, steak, lobster, shrimp, veggie options). They also served the dessert individually as well.

In my original meeting with the WC, I asked if they could serve crème brulee as a substitute to one of the desserts on the family style menu since my family LOVES crème brulee. The staff were so nice that they actually gave everyone crème brulee on top of all the other desserts on the family style menu. They didn't charge us anything extra for it.

Hi - guess this thread is still going?  We just got married at Azul Fives, which is a great resort, but has limited DJ options.  You can pay an outside vendor fee with Azul, which we did for our photographer [Claudia Rodrigues who is brilliant!], but of the 2 DJ options, chose DJ AllMusic.

My recommendation - DO NOT CHOOSE DJ ALLMUSIC!

As part of the planning, we said that we did not want guests to be able to request songs [we had them request songs on their response cards and provided a detailed list of music to be played.]  However, halfway through our reception, DJ AllMusic started taking requests, and we ended up with a long period of no one dancing, and questionable music.

When my husband went to request a song, which was already on the specified playlist, he saw an offensive song and said to the DJ, Do not play this.  The Bride will NOT be happy, and crossed it off the list.  15 minutes later, the song was played, and I left the reception until it finished.  Considering I was paying for his services, he had no respect and I would NOT recommend DJ AllMusic to anyone.

Also, what size sheer panels are needed for the ceremony beach gazebo?  Does anyone know?  If so, please let me know and where were you able to order the fabric online?   Thanks again for the help! :)

The dimensions and suggested sizes for fabric are listed on the Official Sensatori thread. Click on the link below in my signature. I know they have changed a number of the gazebos (Zavas and the Sky), but I believe the beach one remains the same.

Also for any brides, I will be heading down in mid January for vacation and will be sure to get updated photos and sizes then. If anyone has specific requests for photos please let me know!

Hi Murmel,

Can you please find out if chair covers are standard for the Sky Terrace option?  Also, I bought 60 inch x 25 yard bolts of organza fabric for the old gazebo.  Can you find out if these will still work?  Pictures of the new gazebo and set up at Zavas Plaza will also be appreciated.  Thanks.  Have fun in the warm weather in January!!

Hello Ladies,

My fiancé and I were planning to use the IPOD/speaker set-up, but a recent reviewer said the sound quality was poor and interrupted by cell phones.  The Lomas site has the option of DJ All Music and Mega DJ. Anyone have experience with either?  Does AS allow outside DJs? If so, can you recommend one and what their rates are?

Thanks,

Lola

Hi Lolita2014, we were originally going to use the IPod/Speaker option but are going to go with MegaDJ just so that there's a person manning the music the whole time.  The DJ has a spreadsheet to fill out with all the songs that you want.  I figured since we had soo many songs we wanted the DJ to play, it really didn't matter which one we picked, so we went with the cheaper option.

From what our WC told us, AS allows outside DJs, you just need to pay the fee to have them to come on-site.

If anyone else has specific DJ reviews for AS, I'd love to hear more as well just so that I know what to expect.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
