Hi Ladies - I am sneaking on here at work again today so I have to keep it short. There is so much going on and I have so much to say about all of so I guess FI will just have to deal with me getting back on again tonight!

I do have a couple of questions for you Meghan! I was looking at your photos on FB. Thye are just amazing.

I noticed you had some small children attend. I will have 3 toddlers all between 1 and 2, one being my own little guy. I wanted to see if you or your guests used the oniste babysitting and if so, what your experience was. Anyone you really liked or could recommend?

Also, how were the latterns hung up at the Zvaz plaza? I don't want to do latterns but was thinking of hanging little candle holders. Maybe something lke these:

Wire and Glass 12" Juliet Hanging Candle Holder $6.99 each

Do you think that would work?

Thanks so much!

I cannot believe I am posting this on a public forum, but I am having issues with my Mother and she has been making this wedding planning a nightmare as opposed to something fun. I'm her firstborn and only daughter and I guess my expectations of her involvement were/are a little higher than her perception. Anyway, I'm channeling and processing it all and working on beginning to accept that although she has the funds, she just might not be at or involved in my wedding. It hurts, but it is what it is. I just never invisioned my wedding day without my Mom being front row and center stage. Lots of lessons to be learned in life.

Moving past the drama and resisting the urge to emotionally dump here....and back on to weddings!!! We got our STD's back and out in the mail. I will be honest and say that I was on the fence about them and almost hesitated to send them out. We found an awesome seller on Etsy and while I loved all of her other work and samples, I don't think my idea translated over well via email. I wanted something very natural and organic. I love raffia and we are using Burnt Orange as our main color with sand brown and white as accents. After seeing our STD's, I am starting to think we might need another bright accent color. I am a tomboy and not a big fan of pink, so that color is out, although I have seen other weddings and I think those two colors are beautiful together. Any suggestions of an accent color to go with burnt orange that don't give off a "fall wedding" feel are greatly appreciated. Because I know how much we all love photos, my STD's that I sent out are below. We placed thins self-adhesive magnets on the rear so that people could place them on their fridge if they chose to.

Any ideas for a pretty accent colorhuh.gif??
Off the top of my head what about something in the Blue catagory. Maybe light blue? or Green blue. Not sure!

You could easily do a deep blue or maybe a bright sunshine yellow.

I am still trying to figure out colors myself....

I'm just thinking about the type of shoe I'll get. I don't want to wear full on stiletto heels, but am planning to get an ever-so-slight kitten heel or wedge. Tho' I'm generally quite comfortable in heels I am one of those people who always manages to get my heel caught in boardwalks etc. and am curious if I should avoid the small kitten heel altogether. (Already having visions of tripping down the aisle - not a comforting mental image).
I had the wooden runner up on the Sky Deck and right before I walked down the aisle my coordinator says to me "walk on your toes you don't fall on the aisle runner! You're heels could get caught" Whew, I did that and I was fine, my bridesmaids however stumbled a bit.

Well if you want it understated you could do the burnt orange and ivory or a light green if you don't want it girl? Take your STD to a store with different papers or envelopes and hold it next to it and see what you like.

OMG ladies... I haven't been on in a few weeks and missed sooo much! There is way too much to comment on, it took me hours (literally) to read through so many pages!

Congrats to Meghan, I'm glad everything turned out ok!

Welcome to all of the new AS brides (I"m really new myself wink.gif)

Bigbop, I think we're in similar stages of planning... I sent out my STDs, too!

Still trying to decide on the reception site, although we are having the ceremony on the sky deck on May 6, 2011 at 6 pm. It says something about a lounge area with modular seating, does anyone know if we can have the reception there?

I'm going to try and post a pic of our STDs below! The color is not exact because of the bad lighting, but you get the idea.

    • Hello all!! I'm planning to get married next week. I'm working in an MNC and I'm gonna marry my colleague who is in my company. It's been ten months since we have started our relationship. He used to support in all my difficulties and used to help me in my work. Always he used to tell me about my smile. He says that I have a very good smile and he loves it. Recently I lost my front tooth after an accident and it resulted in a bad look for me. He told me that I lost my beautiful smile. I was totally disappointed and thought of finding a solution. I heard about dental dentures and took an appointment at a clinic in Scarborough. Will dentures affect my speech? What was your experience of getting dentures?
    • Go for the third one. It is gorgeous and you will look stunning in that. I'm sure you will be noticed by other people. Go for it.
    • I would suggest the long one. You will look stunning in that. It is simple and elegant.
    • Both the gown are awesome and I'm sure you will look gorgeous in both. But I would suggest the first one. Go for it and Congratulations for your marriage.
    • Hello everyone,  I am still engaged, still not planning the big day, because we haven't chosen a date + we have some family stiff to do so I hope that this forum will help me a lot before the real craziness during the wedding planning period. Happy to be here
