I am not sure why this process is so difficult for me!!!!!

Has anyone else had any problems like this?
Wait what? What reason are they giving you exactly? I am also booked under the same promotion and everything seems to be fine on my end so far. You do know that the B&G promotion is a refund after your stay? And that you get the lowest level of room for the fewest amount of nights booked by any guest? So for us that means simply getting around a $950 refund after the fact.

I did not read the fine print that the promotion is only for the fewest amount of nights booked.... that is really shady if you ask me. What if I had 50 people book Deluxe rooms for 7 nights but 2 people in the Superior Room for 2 nights (that's really not how it will really be, but for example) so I only get 2 nights free?? I should just tell the people who are only staying 3 nights to not come!!! Argh!

Believe me, when i found out I was really upset. I thought it would be the average number of nights. I have a handful of ppl coming for 7 days so I was really annoyed. Let's just say the whole thing did a number on my budget. RGGH. I totally yelled at my TA because she led me to believe it was not that way before I signed the contract but I guess I should have looked at the contract a lot closer. Either way, it is plain annoying and just one more way for them to get ya.

On another note, I'm doing a private dinner event. Is anyone having a separate cocktail hour before their dinner?
I'm also doing a private reception and a cocktail hour. We're leaning towards the fmaily style Italian dinner for the reception and mix of the canapes offered on the different cocktail menus for the cocktail hour.

What are you planning?

Amy, how about you? Food was the most important thing for me going into this but had since changed a bit. Eager to here the menu options other's have chosen.

That is absolutely ridiculous its listed on their website why would they switch up out of nowhere. I can assure you that we spoke with the resorts booking agents last week and we are also receiving a free room b/c we booked 20 rooms. It was an incentive they were offering.

This thread has been so helpful but I have a few questions so if anyone can help that would be great. thewave.gif

Which wedding package have you selected and have you and for any extras?

Do any of the bars stay open past 1am? Everything i read states that the bars close at 1am.

Thanks,
Lyndsey lookatme.gif
Welcome!!! This forum is great and you will learn alot from all the girls here. I just booked a few weeks ago and decided on the Pearl package as we are customizing most of the wedding but that's about as far as I have gotten! If you like the convenience of everything being done for you then the other packages may be better. I haven't heard anything about the bars as of yet, but if I do I will let you know.

Again welcome!!

I have been reading some of your post and think it is awesome how you have all become sort of a little "family".
I have so many questions and so little time.
I noticed that there were a few post regarding fees for bringing your own things to decorate with. Did anyone get the final word on that?
Cecile is my WP. Has anyone worked with her?
Also, I am thinking of doing the pearl package and just adding on. I tink that might be the cheapest way to go. I have also debated doing the silver ir gold but just do not know if they are worth the extra money.
You girls seem much more informed than I. Hope you do not mind all the questions.

Thanks in advance,
Kortney

Welcome Kortney! Everyone is awesome here and if you have free time (probably not) I would try and go back and read the older posts. They are very informative and it helps you think of things you might not otherwise have thought of. Just having booked not too long ago the posts have helped me formulate my questions to my WC too!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
