What would you do if you got an email like this?

I thought the email was very nice. I think they thought very carefully about their words and I think that shows a little compassion. The fact that they are travelling so far to attend your wedding says a lot about them as friends, so I would just be happy that they want to participate in your celebration!

Smile and say "sure, that's absolutely fine with us". Don't sweat the small stuff. It is a big expense and you can't blame them for wanting to make a "vacation" out of it. As long as people show up at your wedding, who cares what they do with the rest of their week? Be happy they think enough of you to join you on your big day. :)

Emails are so hard because you cannot tell the person's tone. If you don't mind them staying elsewhere, I would call and let them know. I would stop the emailing immediately to take some of the pressure off and make sure they know you do/don't care where they stay.

Good luck!

Our planning got off to a bumpy start as well. PF was my #1 choice, but after much discussion about what our guests would expect I relented and chose a large resort (which I'm very pleased with thus far).

I know how bad it feels when you work so hard to plan something only to have someone turn around and say "BUT, could I do it this way?" (especially to say it in an email- they should have spoken to you in person, or the very least on the phone).

Have you suggested that they stay at PF for the night before the wedding and the night of, then stay at the resort of their choice for the rest of their trip. That way they can enjoy their vacation, and be near the two of you and your guests for the wedding events.

Take it from me, though, the planning gets a LOT smoother, people adjust and accept things for what they are. I can almost promise you that you will begin enjoying the planning from here on out (picking the place is the most difficult and agonizing part). There are only good things to come!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
