I really like the idea of fake flowers. I was planning on staying with flowers that are native to CR. I found these great orchids that really deceive the eye. I really like the idea of putting them on the cake. It makes the cake look fresher.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I love fresh flowers, but I want to save money. We shall see. You all were such a great help! Thanks!

I think my friend who is making my cake told me that some flowers cannot be put on cakes, so fake flowers might be your only option. I know I am using calla lilies and those are not okay on food so we have to use fake flowers for the cake anyway.

I'm very pro-fake flowers for some things. I used them in my larger arrangements at the church - they're so far away from the people, they can't tell the difference and those large arrangements are expensive! Also I think they're great for the tables like Jessalyn (?) is using. Serisouly why spend all that $$ on orchids that are going to wilt?!

But I used real flowers for my bouquets and my BM's bouquets, corsages etc. I LOVED having the real flowers for my bouquet....they smelled amazing.

All that being said, I think my friend is going to use real flowers for her bouquet - it's included in her wedding package anyway, no sense buying anything extra. But she's thinking of using fake ones for the BM/MOH bouquets and her hair. It's definitely a money saver.

Also, I remember someone posting a GREAT site for fake flowers on here somewhere....I'll see if I can find it. The pics on the site were really pretty and I was very impressed with the bouquets. I'll post that as soon as I locate it! muscle.gif

Great! I would love to see some pics of fake flower bouquets. I need to see what my mother thinks. Not that she has the final say, but I want to hear what she thinks. For sure fake flowers are going in my hair. I want the fresh flower look to last all day.

So I have opted for a fake flower bouquet. When I was trying to put the bouquet together the other night it didnâ€t look nice. The flowers looked real, but I felt silly holding the bouquet. I guess I am going to shell out the extra bucks for a real bouquet.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
