will you post the correct website? the one i posted may have changed since then.

I did really prefer the catalonia buildings & wedding location to DPA. but, the renovations were not complete so it might look a lot nicer before it opens.

i felt like they treated me so great at the catalonia. they didn't nickle & dime on anything. I see other hotels that charge for each piece of the wedding set up. At the catalonia, the $340 fee covered the chairs, tent, mic, sound system, flowers and so much more.

Now that we're in the final countdown, I'm starting to think about all the little details. Has anyone used the hairdresser and/or make up person provided by the hotel? We're going to have a private reception at the Pure Chill Out Bar with a slightly modified Grill Menu - we were quoted $62US per person for the private reception. Also, did you prepare your own vows? Was Elena the one to read the vows? Only 4 weeks to go and so much still to do!

yes, elena did the ceremony. i emailed her the script in advance and brought several backup copies just incase. she did a perfect job with it.

they have a script they use if you don't provide your own, but i didn't care for it.

i posted mine in a thread called "share your ceremony script"

i was told annalisa would do my hair, but she was out of town during my wedding. i have heard she is good.

i cant think of the person who did my hair's name right now. i posted it somewhere. i thought she was great. she was very relaxing. just came in my room & took care of everything. it was $75. i had pictures of what I wanted done & was very happy with the results. I'll see if i can find where i posted her info.

i did my own makeup.

Hi Morgan,

I am hoping to book my wedding at the Catalonia Riviera Maya for next November. I would just like to thank you for this thread. It is very informative. I have to admit I am a bit nervous planning my wedding due to complete lack of experience (i have never even attended a wedding..lol) and this thread is really helpful.

I am having a hard time getting Elena to respond to my emails...Did that happen to you as well?? I would like to book my wedding but have not heard back from her. What did you need to book your wedding?? Whick package did you go with??

Thanks so much!!

Hello All!!

I am getting married at the Cat in Nov and have a few questions. Has anyone had there hair and makeup done at the resort? How did it turn out? Also, i really want my grandfather to take me down the aisle but he is in a wheelchair(can walk short distances with a walker). For those who have been married at this resort: Is it at all possible? Has anyone done this at a beach wedding?

Thanks for all of your help!! I greatly appreciate it!!

Evelyn

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
