Yes! I remember that pic. Times do change- especially hair colors!

And the movie was The Holiday.

Rachelle,(suddenly realizing I should be using the quote button) what are solar screens? We need something for our upstairs "bonus room." It gets so hot when the rest of the house is cold.

yeah, that's a good one! ;-)
haha, Winslet - yes! I thought that movie would be super cheesy but I've watched it probably 5 times already LOL

Solar screens huh? Martin wants to install solar panels on our roof and then sell the extra energy to TXU or something like that... I just pretend to understand what he's talking about...
Lol! yeah, that sounds a little tricky. Ours are just the screens that go on your windows to block out all the heat from the sun. You can still totally see through them and stuff - but they absorb SO much of the heat your house doesn't get all hot, you don't have to have the a/c & fans working as hard, you're more comfortable w/out going broke cooling your house blah blah blah... But they're ideal for big, Texan windows. :-)

hahaha, oh the memories!!

You have a great memory - here's a pic (hopefully much smaller...)

Yup! that's the pic I was thinking of! You're so versatile! I can't really pull off any color but BROWN...and dark dark brown at that. I tried a caramel type color once but I got so many J Lo related comments I had to change it. I've been afraid to go lighter ever since!

Oh, and here's the solar screen company we used...just as an example in case my crazy description didn't quite do the trick.

Girls, I had NO A/C in my car all last week. It took a week to get an appointment at the dealership. I had a rental over the weekend and should be picking it up tonight. And dropping a whopping $2500 for the repair costs. But, it's so hot its worth it!!! Plus, being pregnant makes it even more miserable. I think I'm going to be a hermit all summer and stay in as much as possible.

We've got the solar screens too, and I can tell the difference. They are worth it if anyone else is considering them.

You guys get screwed in the summer down in Austin---- all the heat of Texas, with the humidity of the northern wet climates because of all the lakes...

But I'd still trade Austin for Dallas. :) I love Austin!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
