Hi @@jackiet2016,

Funny you should mention this today because we just sent our song list to our wc Itzel tonight! We are also having a guitar.

You get 4 song choices. One for the wedding party entrance, one for the bride entrance, one for the certificate signing, and one for the end of the ceremony.

Classic options  are (copied directly from her email to me, so not sure if spelling is correct):

Cannon in D

Trumpet Voluntary in D

Here Comes the Bride

Nuptial March

Babbino Carro (Pucchini)

Aria in D (Bach)

Others:

Endless Love

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Fly Me To The Moon

My Heart Will Go On

Endless Love

Without You (Mariah Carey)

Bee Gees

We didn't really like any of those options but she said with enough time the musician can learn any song you may chose (our wedding is 13 weeks away) so we got on YouTube and found 4 pop songs that we loved when played with an acoustic guitar and just sent her the list  (Bruno Mars, Jason Mraz, etc) She did mention that he recently performed a Bruno Mars and Bee Gees song at a wedding so I'm sure he has some that he knows outside of this list.

Go onto Youtube and search for ambonick1 ... he posts some great acoustic guitar songs and will give you some ideas, even if it is coming up quick!

And children are not included in your list of guests unless they eat off the adult menu (what I was told). They have a kids menu for them.

Have a wonderful wedding!!! :)

Thanks Taraw! I'll be sure to post lots of pics and tell you guys about it, this forum has been great!

@@jackiet2016 I have the list of guitar songs I can email it to you if you like?

@@TaraW it looks like your wc is really on top of this with suggesting the guitarist can play liaise the list, mine didn't even mention that she just sent the list I picked a few from the list and 1 not from the list and just yesterday she said she sent it to the guy! So hopefully he can play it. You also had a few different songs than what I had, so weird lol.

The communication in the last 2 weeks have been the worst with our wc Yasmin and our wedding is next Tuesday so I would have thought that it would have been better this close?! Oh well like you said earlier it gets sorted out when we arrive.

Thanks everyone for all the tips and advice!

I have been following this thread for a while, and though I have yet to comment, I can't say enough about how helpful reading everyone else's experiences have been. Thank you all for your comments and tips!

Looking forward to hearing more about all of your weddings coming up! I will be tying the knot on 5/12/16 at the Palace :)

Have a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL wedding! I can't wait to see pics and hear all about it!!!!   :)

Welcome to the forum, @@Alemike!

It's a definite adjustment to get used to the slow correspondence when you are trying to plan such an important day, but we all understand!! :)  I've read about some brides getting to the resort just before their wedding day and feeling like they could have planned everything in that first visit with the planner because they are so organized, and they wondered why they every stressed out to begin with. So hang in there! If you give me your email address (private message if you prefer) I can send along all of the documents I have. Your WC wont let you get ahead of the step you are currently on, but at least that will give you an idea of what's in store for you.

Kimmyd2 has already shared some info about the rehearsal dinner, you just have to decide where you would like it now. We've been to the resort before and we really love the Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant, because the food is good, it's a fun environment and I think our group of guests will really enjoy it. It all depends on what you are looking for and wanting for that night - not sure it would be the right venue for you since you want to make it a surprise party as well. If you want something private it may be worth while to pay for that? But most of the restaurants aren't very big anyhow, so if you are booking a fairly large crowd you will probably take up the majority of the seats anyhow.

Happy Planning! :)

Hi TaraW and Kimmyd2

Thank you so much to both of you for your tips and advice. Reading your post has been so helpful and calming at the same time

I am so excited and cant wait to see your pictures and hear all about how amazing your day was.

@@TaraW  I would so gratefully I appreciate if you can private message me the info you have. My email is alemike2016@@gmail.com. Thank you so much!

Hi ladies,

I'd love to hear from past brides and well as brides currently in the planning phase as to what (if any) info packages, documents, etc you put in your guests rooms before they arrived? We are going to print out a high quality map for everyone that has a few key spots marked (location of the rehearsal dinner, wedding site, etc) as well as some info they need for the wedding day but I can't really think of much else. Thoughts??

@@Alemike I've just sent that info along to your email

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
