$500 for the stupid ceremony mic!

Recommended Posts

They want to charge me 500 for the sound system at the ceremony. That is soo crazy! I want everyone to be able to hear us at the ceremony...is a sound system necessary? We expect about 30 people and are saying vows right on the beach...any past brides out there with feedback on guests being able to hear?

I am at a loss of what to do. The vows are what we are all there for afterall and we are writing them ourselves so it is extra special. But 500 for 15 minutes....AAARRGHH. voodoo.gif

Don't do it! That's ridiculous, the nerve of them! LOL Like Lizz said I bet if you speak loudly you won't have a problem. Or for a fraction of that you could bring your own microphone although the way these resorts are they may charge you to use your own!

Microphone, wireless microphone, wireless mics, wireless microphone systems, karoake microphones

This hotel is really getting under my skin...it feels like they are intentionally inflating EVERYTHING!!
Very cool and great price! Spend your big money on the things you have to do through them, it adds up!

I'm glad you found an alternate solution. I had a hard time hearing during our ceremony and we had a mic! I'm quite deaf though.

It's ridiculous to charge you $500 though. Seriously, if they charge every wedding that they make a boat load of profit because I doubt the sound system costs that much to begin with.

tobi, also, are you having a DJ? sometimes they will give you a good cut rate for speaker/mic setup for the ceremony since they will already be there. something to check into, might be less money/effort than lugging that stuff with you!

I've been seeing a lot of boomboxes with a "karaoke" feature for sale here in Mexico. Use it on the beach with a microphone on "karaoke" and no CD playing, and it should be just enough to hear the vows on the beach with 30-50 people. I should say I haven't tried it yet, but the thought occurred to me after shooting a couple of wedding with nothing and nobody could hear anything. The $99 sound system rental sounds perfect, for other brides with the same problem, look into the Karaoke Boomboxes. Then you get to take it home

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
