Combo bachelor/bachelorette parties?

Recommended Posts

I thought I had seen a post on this, but when I searched I couldn't find anything. Has anyone had a combo bachelor/bachelorette party? What did you do?

I initially didn't want a bachelorette party because I didn't want the girls to spend any more money since they are already spending money to go to Mexico. However, they are insisting we need to do something. FI didn't really want a bachelor party, but his brother thinks he should have one. So we thought maybe we should just do something together. Neither of us are into the whole stripper/club scene so we are looking for alternative ideas.

We had ours together - we rented a big party bus which was like a limosine inside - there are pics on here somewhere - it was so fun and everyone had a great time! We went to the casino first then hit random bars around time - it was truly a blast!!

I did both...

My friend here where we live took me out for my Bachelorette party. A few weeks later my close friends from my hometown, who are also coming to the wedding, wanted to throw a Bachlorette party for me. Because they are all in relationships and their BF's all get along with Aaron really well, they threw a couple's party for us and we had a great time!!

We started out by having dinner at Cheeseburger In Paradise. From there we went to a comedy club and then went out to a few bars afterwards.

We did a combo bach. party in Mexico, 2 nights before the wedding. I'm not into the stripper thing either and I thought it would be cool to party in Mexico. At first they were going to be separate parties but we wanted to spend as much time as possible together and didn't want our guests & their dates to have to separate (it was the first night some of them arrived). In the end it was loads of fun and I'm glad we got to share the fun together :)

As soon as I saw this thread, my first thought was Betsy and her FI did the booze cruise on a bus together and had a blast! We are having separate nights out but will meet in town later on, so we can walk home together (or should I say stumble!)

We did the combo party. We had a group of friends meet up for dinner, then we headed over to a comedy club and then went to a Martini bar then off to another bar where we rode a mechincal bull. :-) Was a blast, and the comedy club/Martini bar was we DH asked me to Marry him so it was fun to incorporate that into our night.

I suggested that to my MOH, but she is arriving the day before the wedding and there will be too much going on, and I really don't want to be hungover the next day. If she were coming in earlier that would be ideal since everyone will be together anyway.

I like the comedy club and party bus idea. I looked into one of those for my friend's bachelorette party and it was like $1600 and that was just to go to one location! We didn't have a huge group so everyone, and some girls didn't have a lot of money so they didn't want to be included in the dinner and transportation so we couldn't get the price down low enough to make it work for the rest. I didn't contact any other places to see if there were cheaper ones though.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
