Am I able to put seashells on invitations and mail them through the normal post? I want to put little star fish, about 1/2 inch in size on my invitations but I am hesititant against this considering that they might be crushed and make my cards look horrible.

I don't want to put my invitations in different types of envelopes though.

Any thoughts? Would wrapping them in tissue paper help?

Here's an idea of something I just did in a set of invites for someone- you can get round shells that are flat (they're actually not even real shells, but look like it). They mail fine and still give a "shell" effect...

I've seen those for sale. Hmmmm, you got me thinking how I can put that into my invitations. I'm not having it in a sleeve or anything, but I think I have an idea.

          Thanks!!!!

I love this idea. How did you wrap the raffia? Is it tied in the back? Where did you find shells?

            thanks!

The raffia is wrapped around and tied in the back- just in a simple knot.

I got those at Hobby Lobby.
