OMG!!!

I have been obsessively checking the dreams website daydreaming about nice weather, since it snowed here all weekend(!), and all of a sudden our #1 choice for Dreams resorts- Puerto Aventuras- no longer has the opening fall 2008 info bar! Does that mean it is open? I read on TripAdvisor that it is to be in a blackout from end of April 2008-Nov 2008, but it doesnt have that on the Dreams website. I just emailed the WC for the resort and hopefully she/he gets back to me soon.

Does anyone have any other info on this resort? I saw a posting in Feb about the Riviera Cancun0 but I dont think that opens until Fall 2009.

I have been sitting around engaged for almost 2 months with nothing to plan- I am so OCD I am dying for something to obsess over!!!smile36.gifhttp://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...es/smile36.gif

I've been wondering whether this is really a new resort or if they are just turning the Sunscape Puerto Aventuras into Dreams Puerto Aventuras, seeing as they have recently changed many Sunscape Resorts into Dreams (i.e Punta Cana, Tulum). Anybody know the answer to this?

When I check the AM Resorts website, and in the Sunscape section, there is no talk at all about Sunscape Puerto Aventuras, which definitely exists as we passed by it on the way to Dreams Tulum

Any news on when the renovations will be finished? We are still in the process of picking a resort. It seems as though the Dreams resorts have the wedding process perfected according to previous brides. Hopefully, they will have it all figured out by your wedding in May.

i'm somewhat interested as well, since it might be a little cheaper than dreams cancun, but still has a beautiful gazebo out over the water. the resorts in the tulum/puerto aventuras/riviera maya areas seem to be a lot cheaper than those in cancun. i'm just worried about there not really being a wedding coordinator to talk to until the place reopens in november, and even then, will they have all the kinks ironed out by may?

i would totally go for dreams tulum, but i have no interest in getting married indoors in a chapel (IMO defeats the purpose of a dw), nor on the beach (have some older guests who would have a lot of problems with walking on the sand).

I agree to go for the suite you want!

I had a travel agent get back to me with prices of $125pp based on two person occupancy in Nov 2009. She said they open in Oct 2008, so imo that should be more than enough time for the May 09 wedding you are planning. I mean its a chain of resorts, not someone opening their own business, right?

I am waiting to get my confirmation for Nov 7, 09... wish me luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
