I also love the name Cruz and wish the hubs would allow it on our list, b/c if it wasn't obvious - I'm pregnant too!  I start my 16th week tomorrow with my due date being 04/13/12.  It's been a long road for us with a few losses and lots of ups and downs, so we will be happy with either a boy or a girl, but I secretly hope a teeny tiny bit more for a girl.  Our gender scan is 11/28 but Matt doesn't want to find out the sex and I do, so the compromise is that we will keep it a secret (even from ourselves) until the shower and make an announcement there.

Congrats to both of you!!  I LOVE being a mommy.  I am so happy for you both!  We named him CRUZ because he was made on our wedding CRUISE!!  :-)  I already want another one... hopefully I'll be posting the date of our next soon!  I love the idea of keeping the gender a secret until the shower... I bet you'll have a bunch of people show up just because they want to know what its going to be!

So Glad I found this thread!!  I just found out today that I am smile02.gif and I am going to burst bc I can't tell anyone!!!  My FI and I agreed that we wouldnt tell anyone until I was 3 months along, but now that I am.....well I want to tell everyone and I'm only 4 weeks! LOL

So I figure if I can't tell anyone we know, I should be able to tell the ladies on my favorite forum right??

YAY!! I am soooo excited!!!!

I will be 14 weeks on  the day we fly to Mexico and can't wait to tell everyone at the wedding reception.  I even bought little socks and put them into little gift boxes to present to our parents.  What will make it even more exciting is that they all think we have written off having children.  From the beginning of our relationship we always said that we didnt want anymore kids (I have a 7yr old from my past marriage) and once everyone got over the initial shock, they all have accepted this.

But what they dont know, is this past May my FI changed his mind and stated that he did want a child of his own so we planned on TTC soon.  He wanted to start in August but my dress wouldnt fit if we got prego then so we started in October and low and behold I got prego.  The family is going to be EXTATIC.....bc they have all been wanting this for so long.  We have been together for four years , have our own property, are engaged, and now having a baby.  We didnt exactly go in order but its all good....lol

So I just needed to share and want to say congrats to all the other ladies that are prego or had their babies and to the ones that are TTC, to try to relax and enjoy your time with your FI.....

JennyBell,

I am on the same boat...I want to tell everyone, but my hubby wants to wait til I reach the 3 months mark.

Carly,

My hubby also doesn't want to know the gender...he wants to wait until birth!! I can peek, but I can't tell him or hint or make obvious decor or buy gender defined baby clothes.  Like you, I hope I am having a girl, because I like Hello Kitty.

As for names, we already agreed on the names Ezio for boy and Arisia for girl.

MayanBride,

Well our plans fell through and we ended up telling everyone at the 8 weeks that I am pregnant bc my FI grandfather was told he has stage 4 liver cancer :(  So we decided that we would tell everyone now bc we really dont know how much time he actually has left with us.  Everyone was super excited and I feel better now that everyone knows....

FI is still all against finding out the sex of the baby so I guess I am stuck waiting it out like the rest of the preggos on here until that faithful day...lol

Congrats to you and good luck!

    • Congratulations Amanda and welcome to the forum! Absolutely use a travel agent. You will get the best rates & personalized for you and your guests. We can definitely give you resort suggestions & answer any questions you have, but your best bet for pricing will be to contact a Canadian TA. Canadian rates are different than the US market and are typically packaged with the air plus using a Canadian TA you and your guests can pay in CAD.   Karisma resorts are known for their "gourmet inclusive" food options.  Sensatori Punta Cana is a beautiful resort that opened a few years ago. They offers a sky terrace for weddings & reception. They are next to Nickelodeon Punta Cana and share many of the same restaurants. There is an awesome waterpark for kids that is available for a nominal fee.   In Punta Cana Now Onyx is a popular option & we have stayed there twice. The food is good and adults have the added bonus of being able to go to Breathless Punta Cana which is an adults only resort next door.  Now Onyx is in the process of adding a sky terrace for weddings with reception area attached.  Royalton Resorts are another great option. Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana has a terrace overlooking the ocean and Royalton Riviera Cancun has an open air chapel overlooking the ocean. They are great family friendly resorts.  Resort info is attached for all of these options & we have stayed at or toured all of them as well. Please take a look and let me know what questions we can answer. Thanks! • The most recent post I found for Azul Fives brides is here -- although it hasn't been updated much:    You can also find a Cancun-Riviera Maya FB group hosted by this forum here, that will have various info you might find helpful! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CancunRMBrides/ Since you are considering Azul Fives for your wedding, I also encourage you to check out this promotion because it could save you a good amount of money on your wedding -- the only requirement is that you use Wright Travel, which is the official travel agency of the BDW forum! But their services are free, so it's a total bonus and will be a huge help as you plan your wedding celebration Hope that helps!!!
    • Can’t seem to find the forum for Azul Fives with the last year? If someone could post the link that would be great!  I am just starting to loosely plan my wedding and this resort is on my top list. Thanks!
    • Hi there I’ve been engaged for a few months now and we beginning to talk about our wedding. We are 33 and 34 years old, We think we want it to be in Mexico or DR. We expect about 50 guests including children. We don’t want to get married or have our reception on the beach. My Fiancé is a chef so we also would like good food! We would also like to keep the cost under $1800 per guest flying from Nova Scotia, Canada.  Any suggestions as to how or where to start the planning process? Should we use a travel agent?  Any experienced brides that can suggest a resort ? Thank you! amanda
