booking wedding

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I am new to the forum, I am getting married April 2009 at Riu Ocho Rios but I have a few questions that I thought I would throw out there and see what you have to say.

Ok so we booked our wedding online and the next day we heard from Valeria via voicemail saying that the time we wanted was not availible so I wrote back and have now not heard back from her.. I was trying to find a number to call her to confirm because I have now got my flight info but dont want to book it without ocnfiming my wedding... anyone that can help!!!

THanks

Jill

welcome.gif aboard!!

The first thing to get used to around these parts is that you'll never get anything close to an immediate response from the wedding coordinating crew in ROR. lol.

But don't fret..like Lizz said, sometimes it takes them a little while to get back to you because they have so many weddings to deal with. But they will ALWAYS get back to you. If the date/time you wanted is not available I'm pretty sure something close can be worked out. Overall, i think everyone comes back truly happy with their results...if that makes you feel any better. Did you try reaching Chandlyn @ [email protected] or (876)972-2200?

Welcome!

Like the girls mentioned above... working with the Riu isn't always the quickest... but they do get back to you.

Are you working w/ a TA? I found that they respond to my TA much quicker than me. Plus my TA knew who to contact to move things along.

In response to Bobbi's suggestion above... I wouldn't try contacting Chandyln until you have your date confirmed. She is the wedding coordinator at ROR... but isn't responsible for actually booking your date. She already seems overwhelmed with emails from brides... contacting the general wedding department on the Riu webiste would probably be best.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
