I know you need to be in Cancun three working days prior to your wedding (for a civil ceremony). We are getting married on a Friday and were planning on arriving on the Tuesday before. Is that enough time?

That should be plenty of time since you only have to be there 2 days prior. If there are any issues the WC should be able to tell you when you book your wedding.

you dont legally have to be there 3 days prior from what i understand, the hotels just tell people that to get you to stay an extra night...

indypitty, did you choose a resort? which one? did you contact melissa at beach bum vacation?! glad your plans are taking off! we are getting to mexico the same amount of days before hand that you are and that is fine i think!

I was also worried about this-- but we are arriving on a Tues and getting married on Friday- and I got it triple-checked that it would still be "legal"-- so no worries! :)

some resorts are more flexible than others so you should check on your resort. One of the resorts I contacted was very firm on 4 days (not couting the day you arrive but counting your wedding day) whereas the resort I am going with allowed me to count the day I arrive and my wedding day as 2 of the 4 days, same situation as you.

Also of course it depends on whether your ceremony is legal or not. For religious ceremony some resorts still have minimum number of nights, although less than for legal ceremony, probably because they want time to meet with you to do the planning (or like somebody else said just to get more of your money!)

Check with your resort because at Moon Palace, as long as you are checked in by 3, then that will be considered enough time.
