Anyone get married on the beach and NOT use arches?

Recommended Posts

Thanks, Melissa! It does look nice with just a little table. Perhaps I will jsut need the sand ceremony table and no arches....

The resort photographer really sucked so I don't have any great pictures...but try these.

Thanks for those links! I remember how beautiful Sol and Matt's wedding photos are, but didn't recall that there were no arches. Unfortunately, we won't be able to have the Mayan warriors either :-P

I wasn't able to view Jenetta's DIY arch though, it was no longer on her style page in the gallery... Did I miss something?

One thing you might think about doing is delineating the space with tiki torches, if your resort offers them? Maybe?

Also, I'm pretty sure someone on here (Jenetta) made a chuppah out of PVC piping. Ahah! Just found the link: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t1323 Might be worth it to check with her...

My friend suggest I don't use the arches. She was going to have to pay $800 for arches & decided not to. She was really glad she didn't get them. I think her pictures look great.

I won't have arches either. I love the look of the beach/ lagoon where the ceremony will take place. I don't want to cover any of that up. There will be a white canopy for guests to sit under.

I have this picture. I'll look for some better ones.

I think that when people remove a photo from wherever it's hosted (Photobucket, flickr, wherever), the photo disappears from this site. Might be worth it to PM Jenetta (JPMO) to see if she has any photos she can send you. =)

I found this one. They had color through chair ties and added a little bit of greenary.

Instead of an arch maybe something cute along the aisle?

Crappy pic- but they used floral arrangements next to the table.

Another one using a floral arrangement.

Maybe these will help you brain storm another idea. I think it can still be beautiful without the arch!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
