She told me she´d never knew of anyone so detailed beside herself. I think she meant anal! lol
The cinque terre is going to look fabulous with all my decor and the Plaza is going to be the envy of everyone here. Yay! Hugs!!!!!

Very cool! Are you booking the Cinque Terre as an A la Carte? Are you paying for a private dinner/reception there? Are you having dancing after dinner at the Cinque Terre and are you bringing your own table runners? I saw that they have turquoise runners there...Have a great wedding day! cheer2.gif

Also, I asked how much it cost for extra chairs at the wedding ceremony, and am waiting for a response.

What time are you getting married?
Yes, we are going to have our dinner reception at the buffet at 6:30pm.

I didn't even think about paying for extra chairs. Please, let me know what you find out?

We are getting married at 11:00am! Kind-a sucks getting married so early in the day, but apparently that is the only time the Judge is available. We are not going to stress about it though. We'll get married at 11, then take pictures until 12:30 or 1:00, followed by relaxing on the beach until 5:00. Then we will have dinner and party the night away.

I don't know of any other brides getting married that early in the day, but it is a busy time of year. So we are just going with the flow... no stress! (lol)

I will tell you what the extra chairs cost, for sure. Elizabeth is usually really quick at writing back. We are going to get married on the beach...you?

Are you using the resort photographer? I wish I could see some pics that the resort photographer has taken. On an earlier post on this thread, someone had posted the photographer's website. If he is actually the resort photographer, he looks to be good! I think we are going to get the video done too.

Yes, definitely the beach.

My Uncle is a Photographer and he's agreed to take our pictures (we lucked out), but I think I would like to have the hotel take video for us. I haven't talked to my FI about this yet, I think he will say that it's an extra expense that we don't need... but I think it's a once in a like time experience that will go by so fast, I would like to have a video to remember everything (words, sounds, sites, etc.).

Becksy,

I think that the video is a good idea too. It will definitely capture the moment.

Elizabeth wrote back to me and said that the cost per extra chair for the wedding ceremony is $3 US. Not as bad as I thought it would be...Even though it is kindof crazy to pay for extra chairs...but anyways, I would like everyone to have somewhere to sit!

I wish I had a relative or friend that was a photographer!! Lucky you! Hopefully for my sake the resort photographer is good. Photos are important to me.

Becksy,

I have my wedding at noon but as per everyone advice I contacted Elizabeth and I could ask the judge sign paper work at noon and have ceremonies around 4-5 pm and PC Mike will perform the ceremony. You should contact her and she will arrange for you.

Good luck

I thought about doing it that way, but FI was very opinionated about it. He doesn't want a fake wedding, he wants our real / legal wedding with the Judge. He hasn't had much to do with the wedding, he has been good to let me do what I want so I'm not going to push the time thing. Besides, I've already bought a daytime outfit. I've gotten use to the idea and it doesn't bother me as much anymore. However, once we arrive I think I might look into a 3 to 4 hour boat cruiser. I've contacted a few tour companies, but the price is silly expensive. I think I might be able to make a better deal in person. If not we will just relax on the beach.

I think the extra cost is only if you want to have private reception not sure I should ask Elizabeth also send picture of the cake you want because she said the cake are plain, she will talk to the baker and you have to bring your own decoration.

I think this site is so great, especially for people like me who have lots of questions!

I was wondering what wedding package you guys have chosen, and what did you do/are going to do for your reception/dinner after the wedding? The coordinator sent me price info on private dinners, but I am a bit reluctant to spend that much money for the dinner... I have 19 people booked at this time, and expect alot more to book at a later date. That would cost us a fortune!! Does anyone know of a bit cheaper option for the dinner?

Also, for people who have had their pics done by the resort photographer, what did you think of him?

Thank you everyone!! :)

Yeah, I think the extra cost is just for a private reception. I could care less if there are other people in the restaurant when we are having our reception!! I just want everyone in my wedding group to be together for the meal. I would rather be in a restaurant and be waited on, but I also don't mind just going to the buffet and serving myself. Elizabeth said she would look into booking the restaurant for me, in a non-private reception. So now I just have to wait for her to write back to me...

I never thought of the cake thing...I will have to start looking at decorations. I would be happy with just a plain cake with flowers for decorations, even!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
