lol! ; )
Don't worry about the time, I got a time but she clearly stated it's not for sure, I have a funny feeling the time will change once we arrive. I guess it doesn't really matter (I guess!) I like your ticker, mine says the days!

How many ppl are you having for your wedding? and what is the cost for the dj? I am trying to figure if it's worth it for me. I am not even sure my guest count yet but have a feeling it'll be less then 20ppl.

Thanks! We will be doing a very small non fancy AHR so for 20 people or less for my guest list isn't really worth the extra 1800$ For our first dance Carolina is allowing me to do it at dinner. The plan is then head over to a bar have drinks until the disco is open, then everyone can dance there.
Does anyone think this is tacky?Maybe someone has a better idea

We're thinking of doing the same thing. We have 15 people going including us so paying extra for a private reception isn't really worth it. I haven't spoken to Carolina about our first dance but I'm hoping she'll allow us to do it at dinner as well. One thing I'm wondering about is if I should be wearing my wedding dress to the disco? Since the wedding ceremony itself is only about 15 minutes I want to be wearing my dress for longer than that!!

Sperger,

Since you are also booking through Julie, have you arranged anything yet with Carolina? I haven't dealt with her at all, but now that we have at least 30 confirmed, things will change for the reception, etc. Now I have some planning to do! Also, did you purchase one of the wedding packages yet? They include the officiant, etc. But I guess its all extra for specific restaurants or if you want it more private.

Military Mrs. To Be...

I am getting married the day before you! I noticed that you are also having the at-home reception. Are you having immediately upon your return? I am just curious because we are probably having ours in June under a tent in the yard (we have about an acre of land and are expecting a lot of people) What are your plans?

yay!! Our week is full of weddings!! I'm sooo excited!! lol

We are having our AHR as soon as we get back...We get home on sunday and were having it the next saturday, Our best friends live in Edmonton and are coming to Halifax to fly out with us so we want to have the reception while they are still here :) We were going to wait until the summer for nice weather but we didn't want them to feel like they had to come back again so we are just having it right away :) bunny_4.gif

would any of you have another idea for our first dance if it ends up we aren't allowed to do it at dinner? For those of us who are not having a private reception.

I payed good money for my first dress, which I will wear for the ceremony and dinner (pictures too) then I have a lighter dress (I bought the train up so it's not dragging) and will wear this for drinks and disco (I am also doing trash the dress session with the second dress)so I'm not worried for it to get dirty.

I know it'll be hot but don't you want to stay in your dress all day for dinner then party? if you don't ,not to worry I've seen lots of brides at resort's get married then went and changed to just a white dress (this way you'll still feel like you got married)

Jessi, do you have information about the private beach reception? I didn't even know this was an option! We're up to 26, and I know a bunch more are going to book. I want to give this more consideration. Plus, if I book DJ Mannia, it would mean I wouldn't have to create my own ipod playlist...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
