Plus, I didn't want to wait for the papers -- not that I would have minded, but I'd rather just be done with it and not worry about anything once we get back!
Wow. In Chicago we paid $40 to get married at city hall (judge included). $275 is pretty expensive!

Yeah it used to be that way here too -- but our city hall doesn't perform them anymore. My mom was looking into it for us at my hometown and the people there charge 300!!!! So, I think it depends on the location and demand for them! I dont' think 150 is bad though -- it still works out cheaper than doing it there, and for us it was convenient!

Anyways, to the girls married -- are you settling in to married life? Tracy -- did you have an AHR? I remember you were talking about one!

I am wondering about the AHR too! How did everyone's go? We are debating if we are going to do that or not.

Sungoddess you are so close to your date! Yaaaayyyyy!!!

My excitement for today is that my dress is in! Next week I will be trying it on....hope I still love it!

We were going to, but decided not to have one. Done with planning!!!

Besides it's hard to make a date now when I am going through surgery but not know the date and if I wanted to book a hall I'd have to do it now.

yaaah on the dress that's so exciting!!!

Sungodes, are you done with everything and all ready to go, are you packed yet?! LOL

rgonzalez_83

When are you leaving?! YOUR GETTING MARRIED IN LESS THEN A WEEK!!!!!! pinkie.gif

I am almost packed haha, without being packed -- if that makes sense. I have things like "hung together" in my closet, and all of my wedding accessories/bathing suits together in a bag! lol..

I'm just waiting....patiently. I know it will come fast, but I want it to come now. I realized today we are getting legally married in 2 weeks! omg.

I didn't know about your surgery...did you find out once you got back? That's good that there's no planing though, you don't need the stress!!

I have been trying to read this whole thread but I still have a few questions... sorry if they have been addressed but after 3 hours I gave up and figured I'd just post my questions lol. I am trying to make a FINAL decision but its so difficult!

1. We are looking into the Bavaro Section Romance Suites, but is the Royal Turquesa worth the extra cost?

2. We are looking into doing the ROV ceremony on the beach and semi-private reception that is included. Is there a limit on how many people are included in the price? And I saw some people say the WC said it was first come first serve on the restaurants. Are you at least guaranteed SOME place if there are multiple weddings?

3. I see the "Imperial Club" mentioned. My TA never mentioned anything about it. Is that something special or are only certain people eligible?

4. Has anyone ever been over spring break? Because I am a teacher, we will most likely leave the Monday or Tuesday after Easter. Is this a common place families go?

Thanks in advance!

I totally know what you mean LOL!!! I was like that until 4 days before I left!! and I swore I would have been packed a month before I left during the whole planning.

Oh wow 2 weeks!!! it'll come quick, then you'll be leaving soon to go to PC!!! How long are you guys staying for, 1/2weeks?

I found out about the surgery 3 days after coming back (at least it didn't ruin my vacation by knowing) I go for my pre opt appt next week to find out the exact date. (I have endometriosis, they will try to remove it) Not sure if you've ever heard of it. Not many people have.. I certainly didn't until I heard about it and read up on it.
I'll keep you posted!! exactly no more wedding stresses (just bored tho!! lol)

Yes the royal section is a different part then the Bavaro, Palac and Punta Cana section. However you get to use all of the restaurants, bars and pools. If you choose to stay on the royal section (which we did) but got the guest to stay on which ever side was cheaper (which was Punta Cana section). They can visit all the 3 resorts except for the royal (so you can have alone time!!!) The cost is usally more $$ but it's well worth the extra cost for being a married couple and especially if your doing your honeymoon here like us

2. We are looking into doing the ROV ceremony on the beach and semi-private reception that is included. Is there a limit on how many people are included in the price? I'm sorry I didn't know of the ROV ceremony?
But your more the able to have any ceremony on the beach or the beautiful new gazebo. Your package includes a semi private dinner there is no guest limit on this (which is rare after my research for resorts) If you have 14 guest and more you must pick a menu that everyone has, if you have less then 14people can order from the menu of the restaurant you get set up in.
Yes your 100% guaranteed a restaurant for your reception, it's included in your package (you paid for it after all!!)

I personally have never been to any resort on spring break (We avoid this time of year) I'd be careful of Easter week, I heard it's hard to get ceremony's preformed (unless you don't need a judge for your ceremony)
Yes it's very busy at ALL the resors around that time of year, but at the time we were there,it was really full and never felt like it, we never had a problem finding chairs on the beach or had to wait long lines for the restaurants.

Thanks in advance!
By the way!

Thanks sooo much! I feel like a nuisance when I ask questions, but I figure it'd be easier to get a response on here then to try and email the WC all of my questions. Can't wait to read your review!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
