  1. No, we've gone with the Grand only. We wanted an adults only resort.
  2. I started with destination weddings.com and have fired them. My experience was horrible. I've started working with a local TA who is absolutely wonderful and she got us much better rates.
  3. Don't stress. Take one step at as time. We have two years which is a good thing. First step is coming up with a budget so you can have a better grasp of what you can and cannot afford. I have a Pinterest wedding that looks totally different from my real wedding. LOL My FI and I agreed that we will not go into debt for our wedding. You will be just fine.
  4. Thank you for the information. I've decided to not use DW.com as well. Do you have to pay for a the photographer to stay on-site for the night?
  5. I think we are going to check bags too. I can get our bridal party to bring a bag if necessary.
  6. Jennkn87, We decided on the Grand because we wanted an adults only resort. We wanted our guests to not only celebrate our union but also have a kid free vacation. We went with the Gold package. Yes, October is hurricane season, but I have no worries.
  7. Hi Jennkn87, We hired a planner to help with executing our ideas and to be the point of contact between the WC at IGRH. She has also been a great resource and sounding board. We are having everything on-site.Yes, the WC takes a long time to get back with you. I don't like the idea of waiting a month until the wedding day to plan everything. We've gotten a lot accomplished thus far. We are still working out the details for the ceremony and reception. Our biggest hurdle is the guest list. We both come from huge families, but want a small, intimate ceremony. We will have a welcome party, rehearsal dinner, and a couple of excursions for our guests. Lots more to do in what feels like so little time.
  8. WOOOHOOO!!!! 2015 BRIDES!!! Congrats everyone. I will marry the man of my prayers October 2015 at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall. I am so excited! We hired an awesome wedding planner here in my hometown who has taken the stress off of us. I would love to connect with other Grand brides. Also, any tips and advice is greatly appreciated (especially when it comes to DIY projects). HAPPY PLANNING :-D
  9. Hi asu10:-) Our original wedding date was October 2014, but we moved it to October 2015 to give us more time to plan. After not being able to talk with a live person who could answer our questions, I panicked. My fiancé (God bless him) sat me down and told me to hire a planner in the States. BEST DECISION EVER! We've had our invitations designed and received our first draft last week. EXCITED. I'm concerned with the cost of getting our items to the resort. (Do we ship or do we pay extra for checked bags.) I don't like having our wedding charged to our room. I hope we can get everything finalized and paid in full before we arrive. I found a photographer in Montego Bay whose work is AMAZING. His pricing is way better than Digipix and we can get him for the entire day as well as do an off-site shoot. In the contract, I saw where we would have to book a room for one night for the photographer. I hope this is negotiable. Just didn't make sense to do that.
  10. Hello, I am so glad I found this thread. This is the only thread only thread I have seen for Grand Rose brides. Our wedding isn't until 2015, but we have started to plan. Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated. I have had a horrible time getting responses back from the on-site coordinators. We were making travel arrangements through Destination weddings.com but they have been horrible as well. We are basically starting from scratch.
  11. Hello, I am a newbie bride gettingmarried at the Grand as well. The planning process for me had been stressful. I finally broke down and hired a planner in my home town. She immediately put me on punishment. LOL I have to admit, the break from planning was just what I needed. I've seen reviews about Tai Flora and Digipix and I'm not sure if these two vendors fit our needs and budget. I want to do a lot of DIY projects to cut costs and add personal touches. Any advice is greatly appreciated. CONGRATS! :-D
  12. Hello, Has anyone used the hotel's photographer? I think the photographer is called Digipix.
  13. Hi, I love what you have come up with. I am getting married at Iberostar Grand in October 2015 and have lots of questions. I have a planner here in the States but it would be great to be able to connect with past and future brides.
  14. Hi Everyone, I am getting married at Iberostar Grand Rose Hall in 2015. Any advice?
