I think St. Lucia would be awesome!  I told my FH that we must go there at some point even if our wedding venue changed.  I think the country looks beautiful from what I've seen and from what I've read it appears that the people are really nice.

I joined in January, lurked, then posted, then took a long break, then lurked and posted again, and now here I am finally trying to win the golden 150....late but nonetheless getting there...lol

I didn't get far enough with the idea to start researching resorts

We decided to do a honeymoon registry, but we are still a bit undecided between a relaxing once in a lifetime trip (to Fiji, Tahitia, or the Maldives or do a European tour a few months after the wedding which would be fun but not relaxing).  My FH travels a lot so he has a lot of points that can help us plan a trip so we just need to decide on the location and the time we really want to go.

 

St. Lucia was our original plan ( I mean we had a deposit down with the planner and everything).  We already knew the hotel and the plans were all set until we had to change our date then it just seemed that it was too out of control so I changed everything from 9/27/13 to 5/23/14 in Punta Cana...it was stressful, but the right decision for us and our guests.  the guests and my FH were complaining about the costs and travel time.

 

Costa Rica...the travel would have cost a bit too much for the various travelers so I nixed that idea too.

 

Yea, I've had a few people text me and tell me they like our pictures so i'm sure those family members that have been nagging me for pics will at the very least leave me alone now...LOL!  I will definitely keep any that I receive

Hey blue! I remember you from the other thread! Your wedding day is my dad's bday...lol. I was very relieved once i went to visit. Very happy with them more so than what the hotel was offering for more than 40 ppl. I think I'll end up having more than that.

Congratulations, your wedding it not too far away! We custom made our save the dates with a graphic designer but I haven't decided what to do with the actual invitation themselves. Where did you get your invitations? And we're getting in Punta Cana as well.  I've heard nothing but amazing things about the Jellyfish.

Thanks Tricia! Congrats to you too! I'm def impressed with Jellyfish especially after my site visit. I know my guests will enjoy themselves. Time is flying by. I feel like i spent way too long on the save the dates trying to figure out exactly what i wanted to do. it ended up being a time and cost issue for me because i needed to get them out but what i wanted would have cost too much due to the quantity i needed. That's why i decided to do magnets to save money on the save the dates. The postage did get me though...lol. I loved Allurements by Rebecca so I used her for my invites. I LOVE my invites and can't edit to send them out in a little while. I posted the save the dates and invites last night in the Newby thread if you want to see them.

Oh I wanted to do Costa Rica or Panana but i think the travel costs and duration are what made me change my plans. There are some older family members like my grandparents that will be there so I'm trying tomake it a bit easier for them

Yes, they do and it's a nice reminder for those forgetful ppl if they put it right on their fridge. U know a lot of my family like then as keepsakes also. We know a number of our family is not coming (we still have a large group anyway because of large families) so at least they still have a keepsake.
