Trust me, you will appreciate it esp. if you spend a lot of time on this site!

My binder has my (working) budget, OOT supply list, bridal bag supply list, type of photos I want on the wedding day, group activity ideas, DIY list of projects...and that's just the beginning! Personally, it is so much better than one of those pre-made one that cost over $20!!! woot2.gif

CAKnight...that's a great idea.  I have a binder but I haven't done too much to it so it's time to get moving on making my binder a bit more organized.

I can totally relate to you! I am constantly looking over my boarding pass invitations...and always changing small details that most people, except my mom, would notice! lol

So, I can relate to being extremely detail-oriented!

LOL CAKnight.  It's frustrating because you want everything perfect (even though perfection is impossible).  Find yourself nit-picking over minute details.  I had to just stop myself...before I make myself crazy.  I'm just telling myself now to just relax and keep calm.  No need to get myself crazy...lol

I'm sure I have some creative energy, but since i've been pouring over every single detail for this wedding, i'm kinda scared to try that because i'll drive myself insane trying to make them perfect.  I had to take a step back from my own wedding planning because it was stressing me out...lol.  I'm patient but wayyyyyy too detail-oriented :(

Okay ladies here they are.  I knew I wanted to have boarding pass STD's but did not want to spend an arm and a leg for them. So I tapped into my inner creative side that I truly have not connected with since high school lol. I used Word and Powerpoint to create these. I borrowed ideas from many brides here on this forum and created my own.

    I hope you like them.

  5. Hello Jandl2013, I think there is usually a relationship between the Grand and the others but the details were confusing to me.  That is, if kids stay at one of the other resorts, can they attend a wedding at the Grand?  I agree it is exhausting to make a decision between so many excellent choices.  I've narrowed my choices down to 3-5 resorts in the Riviera Maya area because: 1.  A private or semi-private place for the ceremony that's not on the beach 2.  Non-stop flights from the USA cities where most of the guests live to Cancun airport (Chicago and Houston) 3.  Kids are welcome but there are separate areas for adults (our kids are 14-17) 4.  Four star luxury all-inclusive with good food and drinks 5.  For guests, about $1500/person for 3-4 nights, including airfare This is more or less my priority.  When I get confused or see pictures of a pretty place, I try and remember what I need. Based on this, I chose Azul Beach Hotel, Azul Sensatori, Gran Porto Real, NOW Jade and Playacar Palace (the wedding is on the beach - but it's soooo pretty).  All are in/near Riviera Maya, Mexico.  My FI and I are doing site visits in 2 weeks.  We should be able to make the decision after that. I wish you luck.  It will be hard to make a bad decision. JennyPert
Hi JennyPert, Sounds like we have some of the same items of importance: good food, cost of package, kids welcome with adult access, and flight accessibility. My guests seem very antsy regarding Mexico so i don't feel like going back and forth about the safety concerns even though everything seems fine from reports i have read so that's why I'm choosing Punta Cana. Thanks so much for responding. I'm still waiting to get more info from Iberostar to determine which hotel to book. One day soon hopefully! :)

I guess its a guy thing.

Wow...my fiancé is driving me nuts doing the same thing.  But on the flip side, he does have strong occasional opinions about certain things but then when it comes to the actual decision making and helping me out, he doesn't have much input.  He just says, "yea that sounds great".  Really??  lol

Rooms are beautiful, food was good and the beach was one of the best. It's part of a complex of 3 separate resorts, each catering to a slightly different market. The Grand is top of the line all adults. I've been told the Iberostar property in Riviera Maya is similar. I recommend checking out Trip Advisor and Expedia to read the reviews.

    Hi Jennypert!

I know that the one in Jamaica is nice, but since I've been to Jamaica many times (and my fam is from there), I wanted to go somewhere different to get married.  I had read a lot of reviews on the Grand Bavaro on Trip Advisor and it seems great, but i'm wondering how my guests that choose not to stay in the Grand will make out in the other Iberostar resorts.  Trying to make a decision is exhausting...lol.

  8. Hi Yennbride,

I am also considering Iberostar Punta Cana/Bavaro/ or Grand and i'm also having difficulty finding information.  It seems almost as if it's private or something because I see virtually nothing recent.  I'm going to check youtube to see if they have anything recent on there. What time frame are you thinking about?

    Good luck with everything!

  9. Hello to all of you 2014 brides!  This is only my 2nd posting since joining the site; I've been doing more reading than anything.  Punta Cana is my second destination choice as I had to cancel our St. Lucia plans due to flight concerns.  Looks like i'm running a bit behind in all of my planning since I'm still trying to figure out when to have a site visit to check out Iberostar Grand which is where I'm thinking about having the wedding.  Anybody have any Iberostar info??

Good luck with your plans everything! cheesy.gif

  10. Hello everyone,

This is my first post on here.  I'm planning for a late May 2014 wedding in DR.  I'm considering having either an on-site or off-site hotel wedding then a reception at Jellyfish.  Originally, we were set to get married in St. Lucia, but the flights were just crazy in cost and duration so we decided to change the location to the DR.  My eyes are going to fall out from all of the long hours of research I've been doing...lol.

Can someone also email me the 2014 price list to [email protected].  Thanks.

Good luck to you all in your planning :)
